I have a Canon XH-A1s camcorder that I want to synch with my Sikonic Light Meter (cine mode). I know how to do that in theory, but need to connect the camcorder to Final Cut Pro's color tables to get a decent grey card reading from the camdcorder. So, in effect, I need to stream a signal (via Firewire) from the camcorder into FCP, bypassing the log and capture window. I've tried all sorts of ways, but have given up. Please, someone, tell me what I'm missing. Thanks.

- Thanks for the attempt. Actually, I found I had moderate success with FCP 7, which recognized the camera and allowed live capture. I was trying on FCP 5 - didn't work. So I'm going to go with the reading I got using FCP 7. Thanks, though. Shari

- Thanks, though. I found it takes FCP 7 to capture live from my Camcorder. Maybe FCP 6 works too. I know that FCP 5 doesn't - that's what I was on when I wrote about my problem. Your suggested URL works with FCP 1, which I am comfortable with saying won't work for me. But I do appreciate the effort and time you took. Thanks again.
