I don't know what was done to open it but possibly, the latch got bent, either in the door or on the front of the unit, where it latches. BOTH latching pieces must be 90° from the unit. If they are more, it won't latch. If they are less, it won't pull tight. If either got bent in too far, they will miss, when you try to latch the door.
A pair of offset pliers, like channel locks work well to realign them.

If you used force to push it shut when it was stuck open, then you may have bent a hinge. Another possibility is that something fell into the hinge mechanism on one side and is jamming it.

On the other hand, if it was stuck shut, you could have a problem with the door latch.

SOURCE: leaking problem from the door

hi there,
dishwasher leaking might be due to either of these causes, check these:

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom
of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you.
But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the
entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from
leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher,
remove the:

* Lower rack
*Spray arm
* Spray arm support
* Wash/drain impellers

Then try the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly.
You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the
rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten
or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues
to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the
dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses
Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the
leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

    GLTF1240ASO Front Door Won't Lock/Close

    Most probably your door lock is damaged. You are not supposed to force it open, you have to wait for at least 2 minutes (or till the lock sign is off) after the wash is over to open the door, never force it.
    You can just google your model number and search for parts to obtain it. It is quite possible you can change it yourself. See that the line is disconnected from the mains.

    1987 Oldsmobile Sierra door won't close...like

    Sounds like the door latch is stuck or broken.
    There is a gear in the side of the latch that turns when it hits the striker bolt on the door frame.
    You can try taking a screwdriver and pushing on the gear to see if it will move. You can look at one of the other doors to see how it is supposed to work.

    Doesn't close tight enough to start

    It sounds like your door-closed sensor (a microswitch) is out-of-adjustment. If you can locate this sensor, try gluing a tiny piece of plastic or wood to it. This will do the same thing as pushing really ******* the door and allow your dishwasher to operate normally.

    I just installed a Sears Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door opener. As I was doing the adjustment to keep the door closed, it closed too tight. I disengaged and confirmed the door arm was set wrong so I fixed...

    Use the emergency release handle to release the door. Run the opener to the open position until it stops. Close the door until it stops. Now re engage the the door.
