MacBook details Hi, i have just bought a MacBook from a friend but i don't know any details about it. Its white and it says MacBook under the screen which is 13.3". It has a webcam above the screen and a magnetic power connector on the back left. All the other connectors are down the left side and the CD slot is on the right. Also, if you don't mind. I see there are 60W and 85W power units, i got a 60 recentley and it has packed up, is this not stong enough, as the original was larger in size.I am just moving over to Mac from Windows and i like your site. Its good to know there are experts should i need help.Don't know how you can get back to me with this query so here is my email. philipdaveyuk@yahoo.co.uk Thanks in advance for your help. Phil

I have a white screen on my MacBook Pro when I power it up.

Hi craiglawson2,
This thread may be of some assistance to the horrid "White Screen Of Death":
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6781253
If the white screen issue persists after following the suggestions in the discussion above, the Mac hard drive maybe defective and that can still be covered under the warranty.

Macbook screen messed up

Hi there
Yep, I understand your concern.

The cheapest and quickest way is to get an external monitor.
You can pick up flat LCDs very cheaply these days. Even second hand ones on ebay.

The only down side is you cannot use the mac on the move.

I for instance have a monitor at work and at home. I just plug my mac into the monitor where ever I am.

The new monitors come with digital cables.

Good luck

When the installation stops, try to press the Escape button to see where it gets stocked. You might have to do a fsck -p command to fix your hard drive.
