Sierra "encounters a problem and must close"...

I have had this installed on my XP for more than a year with few problems--none that affected the way it ran. Suddenly one day when I tried to "Start with a Blank Design", I got the message "Sierra Home Architect (tm) has encountered a problem and needs to close." The option "Open Most Recent Design" sometimes does nothing. HOWEVER, I can open any of the Designer Rooms and change that any way I want to, and I can open any of my saved designs through the File menu inside the program.

I can live with this but it would be nice if it worked like it used to! I have uninstalled and re-installed, restarted, and defragged my computer several times since this started happening. Could it be that one of the Windows updates has affected the program?
