Picture is very red and slightly distorted

the Sony KP-61V85 was picked up by a technician who said that the convergebce board needed to be rebuilt for about $385.00. It has been 1 month now and they still havent been able to correct it. Today I was told that the part it needed was on back order but they could put in a new part for an additional $155.00. I decided not to have them repair it. The cost is too high. Any thoughts on what part they were talking about.
