Re: hello!!

Are you using an expanded vifeo card? if you are using the, temporarily remove this then use the onboard video card. because the problem is in your video card. if the onboard functioned then try to install other video card

While booting the system gives 2 long beep , and then a continuous siren with no video.

please check the connections. some of the wires inside your cpu maybe loosen up. so tighten them.

you can remove your video card and ram and use eraser to clean the leads.

or worst, your hard disk is corrupted.

No beep no display

If you have had an electrical power surge.
It,s for sure that you have caused damage to the Motherboard-CPU And possibly The RAM ( Memory ) There is no fix for this. I,d suggest New Power Supply Unit. New Motherboard. You can then Try The Memory And CPU On The New Board/PSU.
You may be lucky And the memory and CPU May have survived.
It seems as if the motherboard has suffered the damage.
I,d also suggest investing in a surge protector also, once bitten twice shy.

Compatible processor

Yes, if you overclock you computer, I believe if you enter your bios of the motherboard, asus already has a pre overclock options. That is if your using a p4 2.8 ghz processor. You can not put a 3ghz processor and overclock it to a higher fsb, your motherboard will literally smoke up but, most motherboards probably can easily detect a non compatible CPU.
