well, i just read what everyone had to say- im pretty much fucked- i bough a iphone from lightbox.com- a company in china- it was legit on my part. the phone looked like it was tampered with and it wont work with my tmobile sim card like they said it would. i suppose its lock- they wont answer my call or email. not sure what to do.

  • Kittock Mar 01, 2009

i have been bought an iphone legit and when i turned it on there was already pictures of people on a night out in it but no phone numbers. I have reset it but am concerned that if i plug it into my exitising itunes that i have for my ipod that Apple can trace this as i have read on other sites. Since i paid so much money for it i was told all i needed was a new sim card. Yes there was a sim in it when i opened it. I put in a Pay as you Go sim. It's prompting me to plug it into my itunes. Help!!!!

Or have i lost my money all together.?

what version of itunes you using to fix this?

is it helpful with an iphone 3g?

  • Vivian Brown Apr 30, 2013

the only way to reset an iphone that you have no access to or forgot your passcode, the only way to is connect to itunes on your computer. Hold down the power button and the other button at the bottom. when it signals and new screen pops up wait until you see the apple symbol then release power button and continue holding other button...computer screen will prompt and then you can restore the iphone thus creating a new passcode for your iphone.

Hi I Followed all the steps but the yellow triangle never appears on my itunes. Instead the PC displays a message that says" new hardware detected apple recovery mode" and then it prompts an installation wizard that never find the program needed.

what should I do?

If you're willing to buy something that is stolen, then you are part of the problem by helping to create a market for hot goods.

Here's what you do; unplug usb end from computer while the other end is still in the iphone, then hold down the home button and plug in the usb to your computer, simultaneously.  This initiates "restore mode."  From there your itunes will automatically find it and go with it.

I bought this iphone from someone that had a passcode on it and now i cant reset it. how do i do this?

The only possible way to fix that is get the passcode from the previous owner. There's no way around Apples passcode like that.

You can't update, unlock, restore, nothing, without that code.

How can you reset a forgotten password on the iphone a1203 phone

If you have synced your iPhone with iTunes before you forget your iPhone password, you can reset your iPhone by using iTunes without losing data. Through iTunes, you can restore your iPhone from the last backup and remove the passcode from your locked iPhone while retaining your data. If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer. Otherwise, you have to follow the reset iPhone Passcode with Recovery Mode section below. The following steps will show you how to reset iPhone password with iTunes.

  1. Connect your iPhone to the computer with via a USB cable that your iPhone has trusted.
  2. Launch iTunes. If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes, then no "enter password" is required.
  3. iTunes will automatically sync your iPhone and create a backup file. If it doesn't, you should sync your iTunes and create a backup file manually by in the Summary window.
  4. In the Summary window, you can see the option "Restore iPhone". Click it and follow prompts to choose the latest iTunes backup to restore your iPhone.
After the restoration process is complete, your passcode will be erased and all your data will be restored from your backup. You will now be able to access your iPhone without any passcode. And you can set your new password on iPhone.

Ipod disabled connect to itunes

If you repeatedly enter the wrong passcode, iPhone or iPod touch will be disabled for longer intervals, before you can try again. After too many unsuccessful attempts, you won't be able to try again until you connect to the computer you normally sync with. Note that starting with iPhone 2.1 software, there is a setting to cause the device to erase itself after 10 consecutive incorrect password attempts. This setting is off by default. It can be turned on by tapping Settings > General > Passcode Lock after you enter a correct passcode.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device on the computer that was used to originally sync the iPhone or iPod touch so that you can reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced to the iPhone or iPod touch, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode but your data will not be present.
