Question about Akai LCT2701TD Television
You guys did a great job answering the question I had about my now broken Akai 27" LCD. The good news is that I will be able to get a refund.
My question now is what should I replace it with? I really do like the dvd/tv combo (1 less remote and much easier to use). I would like a 26-32 inch screen (if it's 32" the dvd must be a front load), and ideally the maximum price would be $900.
Stay away from combination units, DVD's, VCR's were not meant to operate inside the cabinet of a Tv (much too hot) and if anything goes wrong with the Dvd the whole Tv (generally speaking) has to come apart..
Don't buy from sources such as Kmart, Walmart, Costco and such - and understand that almost every manufacturer out there makes a good model and makes a throw-away model. The difference you can see is generally the price. Inside it has to do with the way it was put together and the quality or inferior parts that were used...
Consumer reports is a good resource for researching the Tv you want. First find the model you would like to have then shop it for price..
Hope tis helps!
