MY PS3 CONTROLLER WILL NOT TURN ON!!??

After installing batteries in the controller and inserting the usb stick into your PS3, hold down the home button (the round middle most button with a house on it) for a few seconds until the light on the controller illuminates. This is your indicator your controller is paired with your PS3 and should be assignable and usable at this point.

I had just fixed my controller with that problem. Theres a tiny hole on the back of the controller. That is the reset button. Get something really small and thin so it can hit the button. Once done turn on your PS3 and plug up the controller with the usb connector. Once done press the PS button then it will start blinking and then assign a controller number

Check that the batteries in the controller are rechargeable, as some consoles that you can buy come with different things depending on the bundle you choose. I don't have a ps3 but I do have an xbox 360 and the bundle I chose did not come with a charger kit or rechargeable batteries. If they are rechargeable batteries have you tried them in a different ps3 controller to see if they will charge then?

you have to reset your ps3 controller to sync to your ps3 consule. to do so you need: Small paper clip or cloths pin, ps3 controller *DUH* and glasses.

1. turn your ps3 consule off.
2. flip the ps3 controller upside down
3. Underneath close to the right hand corner where the thumbstick rest there will be a small [ ] <-square
4. in the center of the square there is a ( ) ,- circle
5. that circle is the reset botton
6. with the small pin or paper clip press the circle till the blinks stop *USUALL 5 TO 10 SECONDS*
7. turn only your consule back on and press the home botton to the controller you are trying to sync

**DO NOT TURN ON ANY OTHER CONTROLLER TILL THAT CONTROLLER IS FINALLY SYNC**

Welcome to Fixya. Heres how you can connect your controller to your PS3.

1. Press the tiny Reset Button on the back of the controller

2. Plug in the USB Connection wire

3. Restart Console

4. When loaded, Press the PS Button

5. Disconnect the USB wire

Then it should have recognised the controller and auto-assigned, hope this works for you

Same thing here. I DONT KNOW IFTHIS WILL WORK FOR YOU, BUT I...cleaned both ends of the usb cable with a Q-tip and a tiny bit of alcohol. Then i swabbed the female port of the controller. I NEVER TOUCHED THE PS3. i was asfraid of doing damage. Went back online for solution tips, 10 minutes later i realized my controller lights were blinking and charging again. Hope it works for you.

Either it's a new controller or it needs re-registered to your system. Turn your PS3 on and connect the controller to the PS3 via power cable. On the top of the controller if you're looking at it from the back, you'll see a tiny pinhole in front of the 4 lights. Hit your PS button to make the red lights flash, then with something tiny, like a toothpick, press in the button for a second. This will register your controller.

Press the sync button, the LEDs will flash rapidly
Insert the usb that comes with the controller, the LEDs flash slowly
Press the home button on the remote

try cycling the power on the back of the console
are the lights blinking on your controller when you press them?

The only thing I know to do is with they system off press the PS button on the controller. While the lights are flashing, manually turn on the Playstation using the touch button on the machine. This is what I have had to do in the past and it worked for me. I hope it does the same for you.
