My ps3 60 gb console will not read or play any games??!!
I have had my ps3 60 gb console for 20months and it worked fine up till a week ago, when now it won't play any games or dvds? Phoned sony who stated i would have to pay £99, even though i originally paid £479, for this piece of junk!! I have tried resetting it back to factory settings, still nothing!! It has always been well looked after, well ventilated and only had around 3-4hrs of gameplay a week, i think it is disgraceful that they charge another £99.00 or £145.00 depending on the fault, when these are soo expensive, and should be built to last.Any help appreciated......

Let it dry for a week it will be fine as long as u don't turn it on. The screen mite have water damige but other than that it will be fine. If it starts having problems reading games get a alcohol wipe and rap it around the game the insert game then eject. Do that ten or fifteen times or till it plays. All that is is carotion.
I am having the same exact issue myself. Starting a month or two ago, it got harder and harder to get PS3 games to play. Now it plays anything that is not blu-ray based. I would be very interested in hearing how you are able to fix the problem.
2 weeks ago i bought a r4 adaptor with sd card 2 gb and 30 games on it.it was worked propely since today when ds displayed there is no ds card inserted.please halp me my kids kill me
This is most likely do to a previous freeze up while on the PS3. All you have to do is to first disconnect all of the plugs and wires. Then you put them back in and turn on the PS3. It should read your PS3 game discs.
it means the one that wont read is scratched, dirty or defective, my advice is to clean it if its dirty, get a cd repair kit if its scratched or take it back if its defective.
