OK hello I'm new to the tech support any way how much memory on the Hard drive and much is left on the external drive it may ask you to merge to tell you you need room for all files and that you may have almost reached the compasity on the drive
Is your drive external or internal? If it's external, see what happens when you plug it into another computer. If it is internal, see if you can reformat it using the operating system's reformatting program by paying close attention the information the computer is trying to tell you.
Mechanical damage. Last possibility to retrieve the data on it: open the case, extract the hard disk, put it in a desktop and try to access it in there. If even this fails then it's dead, junk it.
An external unit has two main parts:
* the disk-drive
* the USB-to-disk-drive adapter
In your case, the adapter seems to be working OK.
But, when Windows tries to read the 'table-of-contents' from the disk-drive, it cannot,
and so you get the 'please insert' message.
You might want to disassemble the unit, and remove the disk-drive,
and connect it as a 'slave' disk-drive in a desktop computer,
just to bypass the adapter, to see if the disk itself can be read.
So, about 0.1% of the blocks on the disk-drive are 'unreadable'.
This means that the other 99.9% of the disk-drive _could_ be readable,
namely all your files.
Search online for 'DATA RECOVERY' software -- it reads through the blocks on the disk-drive,
block-by-block, trying to 'stitch' blocks back together (like assembling a jigsaw puzzle) to
reconstruct the (unreadable) table-of-contents, and thus make it possible to copy the files
from that drive onto the 'C:' drive of the desktop computer.
I dropped my Trekstor 500GB hard drive and now it registers as a removable disk with message "please insert disk into removable disk". My computer is a Windows vista. Can the Trekstor be repaired and can I retrieve my data. Until now it worked perfectly.

Dropping a drive can be catastophic but usually isn't.
I suspect you may get lucky and find out it's just some of the circuitry in the trekstor shell that is damaged.
Take the Trekstor unit to your nearest PC shop and ask the technicians there to remove the Hard Drive and put it in a new enclosure to test it. If it works in the new enclosure, buy the enclosure and your done. If it doesn't work in the new enclosure then you may be suffering from worse issues that will require the help of a pro.
