Tv wont turn but makes clicking noise

There is short circuited component/s at its main board. Power supply regulator section is working fine. You have to check for fault at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the horizontal scan output transistor, and check. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

My Magnavox plasma screen tv, model number: 42MF237S/37 makes a clicking sound when I try to turn it on. No sounds, no picture, just the clicking noise. Things I have tried so far: 1) Turning the TV off...

You either have a cold solder joint in your horizontal deflection circuits or your or in your horizontal output circuit. please be careful due to the fly-back transformer still holds power even unplugged until you discharge it.( ground it out). Hope this helps.

My Sanyo HT28745 28" HDTV clicks but doesn't turn on

I have had a similar problem with my tv, it has something to do with the power supply.Try unplugging your tv from the AC outlet. While unplugged from the power supply hold down the - volume control and then plug the tv back in while holding down the - volume control. It should bring up the service screen. If the screen turns on and is blank then it may need to be brought in for repairs.

If the screen does turn on, either blank or with the service menu, turn off the tv and unplug it from the power supply again. With it still unplugged hold down the power button on the tv and then replug in the tv. continue to hold down the power button until the tv displays a video signal on screen.

Sony sets are tricky to troubleshoot and you're not telling us much. For example, do you hear anything at all when you turn it on (clicking or high voltage coming up then shutting down). Anything appears on the screen at all ? Does the red light on the front blink and if so how many times ?

Son dropped TV

Chances are is that the actual screen inside is broke, so that the laser cannot display the correct colors in the right spots. First talk to a TV repair guy, but he will probably just say to buy a new tv.
