My android Samsung phone will not send sms to one contact but it will send mms what's wrong

It means that the person you are sending to either has an older phone that will not accept multimedia messages or that there contract plan does not include MMS. If it is the other way around, you need to contact your cellphone provider, unless your texts are over 140 characters..

Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to and from mobile phones over a cellular network. Users and providers may refer to such a message as a PXT, a picture message, or a multimedia message.[1] The MMS standard extends the core SMS (Short Message Service) capability, allowing the exchange of text messages greater than 160 characters in length. Unlike text-only SMS, MMS can deliver a variety of media, including up to forty seconds of video, one image, a slideshow of multiple images, or audio.
The most common use involves sending photographs from camera-equipped handsets.[citation needed] Media companies have utilized MMS on a commercial basis as a method of delivering news and entertainment content, and retailers have deployed it as a tool for delivering scannable coupon codes, product images, videos, and other information.
The 3GPP and WAP groups fostered the development of the MMS standard, which is now continued by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA).

How do I send a mms message from my cellphone?

Get MMS activated on your number. It will cost the earth to use it though.

From Messages go to create->mms.

Create a message and send.

There would be a restriction on the size of the message.

My phone tells me my multi media message is too big . when i`m sending picture messages to another phone they are being recieved but the pictures are blurred or blocked. the message reads this media may...

Hi Susan,
Your pics are sending, so youve got the right mms settings :)
However, you need to check the following ....

1. You cant send 5 megapixel images via MMS as the file size will be far too big. You should have the option to resize before sending. Maximum file size is 100K or 300K delending on which setting you have selected.
Make sure your pic is under this limit.

2. Go to messages>settings>multimedia> and look for 'creation mode'
Make sure it is not set to 'fixed'
If it is, then change it to 'free;

Now try and send your MMS again ;-)

I cannot send or receive picture messages

Dear Sir! Their could be two reasons for that:
  1. MMS(multi media settings) are not activated on your SIM card(connection).
  2. MMS is not activated in your cell or installed on your cell phone.
Case 1:
First contact your network provider call the call center n ask them to active MMS settings on your number.
Case 2:
If above step wont solve your problem then what you have to do is to contact your network provider again and ask them to send corresponding MMS settings for your cell.They might tell you a code(remember that!).They will send you MMS settings (or configuration message).Store it!. And in case prompted for password enter that code you were told before.After that set that settings to default.And restart your phone.

You can send pictures from your cell now!!!
Good Luck!

I want to send multimedia messages but, the phone wont let me.

Hello... The option of sending a mms(multi media msg) doesn't entirely depend on the mobile you use.You should first activate the MMS service by calling the customer care of your service provider.Then the recipient [the person you wish to send] should have a mobile which supports MMS and he should also activate the service on his part. Still if you are unable, post me.

Your phone ran out of memory and the only way the messages could be sent or received is through mms on the phone. You need to clear out the in and out box often so the phone will not do this. Also you must reboot the phone after you have cleared out the in and out box. Then it should work.
