Frontpage 2003 problems !!!

(1) I designed and published my site via FP 2003 and it looks great on my computer BUT other people open up the site and the words / buttons are all screwed up on their screen. WHAT causes that and HOW do I fix it so the site is perfect LIKE I DESIGNED IT ?? (2) I am adding a photo gallery to another page (have one on most of my pages) and for some reason this one is MESSING up.... I move the "add to cart" button to one area and it moves by itself to another, completely random, area. To see what I mean - my site is at URGH !! Thank you ! Steve R. / Web Guru

The companion CD that comes with MS Frontpage 2002 Inside Out will not install in MS Vista. Any work arounds? Thanks, Craig

Start Vista's "Program Compatibility Wizard", and choose to install a Windows XP application.
Then, point to the files on the CD-ROM, and it will install.

I have microsoft publishr on my desk top computer but I dont have the disk.I bought microsoft Publisher 1993 as I was told it would open the files I have on the memory stick I also have the microsoft 98...

...why are you still using publisher 98? Never mind. Whoever told you that 93 would open a file created with 98 was lying; the programming likely isn't compatible. At this point, you'd need to look REALLY hard for someone with the expertise AND tools to get that data for you. I definately have the expertise, but publisher 93 is almost as old as I am, so i doubt i have any of the necessary software lying around. If you use a more modern version of publisher, like publisher 2003, you might get lucky. i don't remember if 2003 is backwards compatible, but it probably is. But if anyone tells you that any computer or program from that era is forwards compatible, they are LYING. So to answer your question, try buying office 2003, and open it with publisher 2003. It might work then.

When I go into FP explorer it won't load my

I had a similar experience. Perhaps this advice (from my Web Hosting provider will help (However I was using FP 2003):

You can publish your web site from a copy on your own computer to your hosting account , or you can edit your web page directly on our server making the changes instantly available without having to publish.

To publish from your computer to our server:

* Open the copy of the web site you have on your computer

* Go to "File" then "Publish Web" on the FrontPage menu

* Type in the web address of your server based site (whatever yours is ...)

* Click "Publish"

You will be then prompted for your hosting username and the password you assigned when installing Frontpage extensions.

To work on the live version of your site, open the web by going to File --> Open Web menu, and then typing in the web address for your site.

In this scenario, when you create or edit a file, you're editing it directly on the server, and therefore do not need to upload it, as it will already be there. Exercise caution, because if you make a mistake there really is no way to fix it, as the changes are instantly made on the server.

When using this method, we suggest you make a backup copy of your files in case a problem develops. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own backups.

Special note:

We strongly recommend not using FrontPage's FTP feature for uploading - all publishing should be via the http:// publishing option. The reason for this is that we've noticed many clients who are not familiar with the FrontPage FTP feature tend to accidentally delete critical folders or upload to the wrong folders. Using the http:// publishing option ensures that your site will be uploaded to the right folder in your account.

If you need to use FTP, we recommend using a dedicated FTP program - some of them are listed here.

what is your version of acrobat? if it's acrobat 7, this version works only with ms office 2003 and below. Also, you can do these steps:

1. Open office application>go to help > about [name of program]
2. go to "disabled items" and look for the addin for acrobat (i think it is named adbmsofficeaddin.dll) and enable it.
3. restart the application.
