Best way to remove local profiles from over 1000 in windows xp OS

I am trying to determine the best way to remove local profiles from over 1000
machines on a weekly basis. Right now we are having to manually visit these
machines or use remote management and slowly delete each profile.

I am looking for some help with writing a script which will use pc names
from a txt file, remotely delete the user profiles, with the exception of a
few specific ones.

I have looked at the tool available from Microsoft, except the user profile
deletion tool deletes all profiles and there are a few I would like to leave.

Any help or direction in writing a script to take care of this would be much

Happy Holidays
well, here is a security issue, and administration policies.
I recommend you should talk, with the administrator of this locals machines, to do this. depending on LAN or place, its a privacy and security issue. but yes, depending the rank you have to make changes on cumputers, or what you really want to do, on that computers, there is no tools for that but make policies. as administator

How to Upgrade Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition Profiles to Windows XP...

This guide describes how to upgrade a Microsoft Microsoft Windows 98-based, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition-based client that has user profiles to a Microsoft Windows XP-based client.
The following steps enable the Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition (Me) profiles to be retained throughout the process.
Your best method to retain the profiles is to join the domain during the upgrade installation process.
Otherwise, you must use a workaround method to transfer the profile information over to the Windows XP profile.
During the upgrade installation process, at the networking section, the administrator is offered the choice to join a domain or a workgroup.
If you join the domain at this juncture, you ensure that all the existing profiles are migrated successfully to the Windows XP-based installation.
If you did not join the computer to the domain during the upgrade process, you must use the following workaround method:

Join the upgraded computer to the target domain.
All applicable users must log on and log off (which generates a profile).
Copy the appropriate Application Data folder from the Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows Me profiles to the newly created user profiles.

Upgraded windows 7 from windows xp pro on gateway profile 5.5, but cannot change resolution. All icons are huge.

First of all Un-installed/format it your system and re-installed windows 7 and see it happen again or not? May be, while upgrading your windows XP to windows 7 some file may be left over so while running your OS (operating system) file cannot read properly.

thanks for using FixYa Good luck

My lg computer is not switching on onto the local profile. Instead, it creates a temporary profile everytime I switch it on. And all the data I save in this profile is lost when I turn the computer off....

I think that you're best chances are to restore the windows to a previous good configuration. The process depends on the type of windows you have. If you need further information, please tell me which type of windows you have.

Is ultimate solitaire 1000 compatable with windows vista?

It is designed for Windows XP, running DirectX 9.
You can try running Backwards Compatibility that Windows Vista provides backwards compatability with win32 operating systems.
Only warning is that not all programs run efficiently and there might be bugs because of the different Operating Systems and the OS software was built for.
