Question about Samsung PS42P2S 42 in. Plasma Television

Blue glow Over the last 2 months a blue glow has developed on the left edge of the screen.  The 1 year warranty is about to expire.  To whom do I report this problem?

If you buy with credit card, it may extend the warranty, check with you credit card company.

Warranty comes from name brand on set contact them immediately.

T.v. will not come on model LT 2327

This is either a power supply problem, or, as I suspect, the capacitors are blown out on yuour screen. Alot of screens nowdays are having this problem, as they come with capacitors to energize the screen, and the capacitors are coming from China and Taiwan, with low quality standards. The caps should last between 15-20 years before going out, but on alot of these tv's the caps are burning out in about 18 months to 2 years. If your tv is still under warranty follow the warranty instructions for repair, if it has no warranty, or if it has expired, then take it to BestBuy or Fry's electronics. They both have special technicians for this type of service. Just Know that it is not cheap, as the repairs can sometimes cpst as much or more than the cost of a new TV.

I brought samsung tv before 1 year date on 6/11/2009 and before warrenty expire i make complain for voice humming and colour patch but your technical engineer come on 4/11/2010 and he didnt do anything...

I don't know what your local ruling is regarding warranty repairs but in Europe, if a fault is reported before the warranty period has expired and the fault is not rectified for a period of at least 3 months, the warranty for that fault continues until the fault is rectified.
I should contact Samsung now and explain the situation to them. Write it all down and don't delay!

Sony kdl-46xbr4 Black Horizontal Bands When I First Turn on TV

I had the exact same problem with the Sony KDL46XBR4. The problem started 11 months after I purchased the TV (Dec 2007). Luckily I placed the call to Sony just before the 1 year warranty expired and they replaced the entire front panel which is basically the whole TV except for the stand and the plastic frame. Last month the same issue started happening again (5 months since the repair). I called Sony and they say they have a 90 day warranty on the replacement part so I would need to pay out of my own pocket to first have the problem diagnosed (it's the EXACT same problem!) and then pay to have the repair done since the warranty has expired. I asked how much the front panel costs and it's $1,400! I paid $2,100 for the TV when I purchased it. Interestingly, at the time that part was back-ordered.....hmmmm, I wonder why??? Perhaps a recall is warranted here (no pun intended). Needless to say, I have sworn off Sony products due to their lack of support for this issue.

Its unfortunately a bad LCD panel. Even though the warranties for these TVs has expired, you should contact the manufacturer because there may be a hidden warranty ( when a manufacturer knows of an issue with a limited number of TVs and decides to quietly take care of those consumers who contact them.)

Be prepared for some resistance from the first person you speak with. Persistance pays off when dealing with the customer relations dept.s of large corporations.

Vertical lines on my 40 inch lcd mitsubishi hdtv 1080

Similar problem with an eleven and a half month old LT-40148. Approx. 1 inch vertical banding line on left side of screen on all inputs. After about two weeks, same problem on the right side of the screen.

Fortunately this occurred two weeks prior to the one year warranty expiring.

Called Mits customer service and they referred me to an authorized service center who I happened to have dealt with before.

They picked up the set. The front panel (LCD screen ) had to be replaced. Set was gone for two weeks as parts were not in stock. There was no charge. I hope this screen last more than a year.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Vertical Black line 3 inch width on Plasma Samsung 42C96HD after 2 months of use

I also have the same problem I phoned Samsung today to explain the tv was only 14 months old, they didn't wanna no because it was out of warrenty by 2 months. I am getting a black solid line down the left hand side of the screen. I ended up phoning Dixons were we bought it from, they have told me to get an independent engineers report done & send the report to them within 14 days. Dixon told me it was a known problem with Samsungs. They said they will fix it free of charge if they can if not they will send vouchers to the same value of the television. So beware stay clear of Samsungs.

Blue glow

I have the same issue with my phillips tv. There is a blue ghosting/pixel issue on the left side. It's still under bestbuy's warranty so I am going to call it in for service. It's more visible with hdmi and high resolution inputs. It does take a while to happen. Looks to be a bad screen possibly.
