1. This problem is with the drive mechanization. If belt driven the small belt that pulls the gear has become stretched and need replacment. 2. If this is direct drive then the gear has lost sync or is worn and need service. 3. To remove disc you can unscrew the 4 to 6 screws to open the cabinet ( this will void any warranties) but you can rotate the gear in clockwise movement to retrieve the disk. 4.If there is a belt there you can carefully remove the belt and apply a coating of "Rejuvenate" to it and it will last for about 3 months. before the belt will not be useful. Note: that the application is careful applied and allowed to dry thoroughly before installing the belt again. 5. Most DVD players are disposable lasting only for 10000 to 50000 plays.

I have a portable DVD player that is about 3 years old and 1/2 the screen has gone blue and the other 1/2 is normal. Is there a way for me to fix this?
