To bridge yoyr router.. contact your dsl internet service provider (isp) and ask then to brigde your modem.. and get the exact user name and passwd.. and config your router for a pppoe mode and that will fix your problem..

Don't you require an RJ-11 for a phone line, cause I don't see one on this model? In any case, the ATM protocol should be handled by the ISP modem, and the router should just pick up the established network over Ethernet.

Connect the ISP modem to main uplink port. Then connect pc to any other port. Done. Some models come with a setup disc, but not absolutely required.,0.pdf

Most Cable Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use Media Access Control (MAC) Address authentication to establish Internet connection for end-users. MAC address is a unique identifier assigned to the network adapter/s of the computer.
To set up your Linksys router to work with a Cable ISP, you have to enable the MAC Clone feature of the router. MAC Cloning is a procedure which enables a router to copy the MAC address of the computer that's registered with the ISP.
To setup a Linksys router with Cable connection you need to perform four steps using the computer that's been registered with the ISP:
i. Verifying Internet Connection
ii. Connecting Devices Together
iii. Checking the Router's LEDs
iv. Configuring a Linksys Router for a Cable Internet Connection

My router won't establish an internet connection to my new network (Frontier)

re you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Cant setup or connect to internet through router

Different ISPs require different configurations. If you have a Linksys router, such as the WRT54G, there are 2 ways on how you can configure it, either by running the Setup CD or by doing manual configuration. This particular router has its own web utility and you can access it by typing its IP addres on your web browser, ex. By default, it doesn’t have any username and its password is admin.

Once you’re inside the setup page, you can configure now the router for DHCP, PPPoE or STATIC IP settings. For DSL customers using a PPPoE account, some modem needs to be configured into BRIDGE MODE first and then the router will be set to PPPoE with the correct username and password (given by ISP). If your a DHCP account, modem doesn’t require any configuration. It will work with its default setting and the router would be set to DHCP. Once done, powercycle your devices to establish internet connection.

open in your web browser, the password is 'admin' when on factory settings (no username)
There will be a lot of options, You will want the Applications/Gaming section. Enter the ranges, set it to both for protocol, then enter the last number of the ip address of the device you want the ports forwarded to. For the port 47624 just enter that number in both the start and end section. Good luck!

what is the model of your modem? if you said that you are able to get online when your computer is hooked up to the modem only, then it indicatest that your modem is not yet in bridge mode. Putting it in bridge mode will make your modem a "pass through" device thereby causing no conflicts in asking for ip add/connecting to your ISP. when your modem is in bridge mode, you should not be able to get online.
after setting your modem to bridge mode, connect your linksys router. if you have a pppoe connection, or one that uses username and password, have that set up in your linksys router. at this point, your router will be the one to ask ip adds from your ISP.
you could also visit this site,, for further configuration of your router. as for your modem, try to call your ISP on how to set your modem to bridge.

I have problems with installing Linksys wrt 54 gl wireless router

i will need more information to help you with this. but since this is a new router, you definitely have a modem, chances are you'll have to bridge the modem first for you to be able to use your linksys router
default username is blank
default password is admin
check with your ISP if your connection type is DHCP or PPPoE
if it's PPPoE, you'll need to configure your router, you need to put in your username and password for your ISP inside your router's GUI or main interface page
