Screen "blinks" black every few minutes - Dish Network

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. When the picture alternately goes from normal to a black screen, it is an indication of an intermitten signal issue. You can attempt to reset the receiver box by unplugging it from the power for 10 seconds and letting it reboot. Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

Just bought a Sony XBR9 and Comcast gave me a Motorola DCT6200 box which has a DVI output to a HDMI input into the TV. When switching from a HD channel to an analog or digital channel, the picture is...

I am having the exact same issue. It started happening within the first few hours of turning on the XBR9 for the first time. I also have a Motorola box from Comcast. This did not happen with the HD TV that was hooked up previously. Did you return the TV?

Motorola DCH3200 cable box: sound and sometimes video cutting out

Sounds like your SNR is getting too high and causing the signal to overload. A few things can cause this a bad splitter that causes the signal to bleed and introduces noise, or a more common issue is having a weak signal coming from the cable provider and once it goes through a splitter it causes the signal to become to weak to be stable.

Since it sounds like your cable has been working up until recently, you may have had a cable or splitter go bad.

Call comcast and have a technician come out and test the line.

Problems with dish network remote

Hi dsmcfarland there are acouple of things you can do so the remote works better. On the receiver selectthe System Info button, it will take you to the System Info screen, at thebottom you will see two white boxes the first saying "primary remote address"and "secondary remote address". With the TV1 remote press and release the SATbutton and press Record button one time. You will see the primary addresschange and then press Select button on the remote. I will send a link to helpout with these steps.

Can I connect a dct6200 to my comcast network?

You probably will be able to for a little while, until the headend your DCT talks back to gets around to polling it.  Polling is when the main computer checks all of the cable boxes in its' domain for channel auths, pay-per-view purchases, and other behind the scene info.  If the DCT isn't registered on the system, the headend will send a disconnect signal...eventually.  This may happen in either a couple of days, or a few days, (hedging here) depending on the polling schedule. You may also find that while the DCT is operating, initially, the channel map maybe different, if your box was from another city or state. As to whether Comcast will allow registering a box that was bought, and not rented properly through them, that is highly debatable. There's no rule I am aware of against that, however.
Good Luck,
DCT Goddess

Unplug the unit> Remove> Take out to back yard> Smash repeatedly with a sledge hammer of at least 2Lbs> Mail the resulting material to cable company preferably next-day.

No startup

For my FTR9965, it is necessary to physically unplug the
power cord from the box before you are able to enter the service codes. The sequence is:

1. Unplug the box for a few seconds.

2. Plug it in again.

3. Turn on the box with the front panel power switch. Wait for the green light to come on.

4. From the remote, quickly enter 062596 plus the info key.

5. A message comes on the monitor warning you that you could really screw things up if you don't know what you're doing, and do you really want to continue? If yes, hit any button on the remote. You only have a few seconds to respond.

6. The "stand alone" option is near the end of the "service" menu list. When you find it, change the "no" to "yes".

7. Go back to the main SAM menu, scroll down to "Store", and hit OK. I'm assuming this makes the "yes" selection permanent.

8. Enter "00" to exit SAM.
