Battery wont charge and laptop wont start using

Check the pin inside the connection (end of the cord) which you put into your machine, or check if the power connection on the circuitboard is damaged (you are able to wiggle it a little bit around)

Dell computer use the pin inside the connection from the adapter to recognise if the adapter you are using is a dell adapter or not. If the pin is damaged, or you are using an adapter from another brand. You will not be able to charge, but only power your pc.

How do i switch on wireless on a medion laptop

There could be a switch located on the outside of the laptop. If not, go into Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings, right click on your wireless device, and click "Enabled".

Wireless is enabled by using the switch / button in front of the notebook. It is located in the right hand side, in front.

How do I fit wireless card into medion mim2120 laptop?

I assume you mean "wi-fi" wireless access. The easy solution if wireless networking wasn't built in is to use a USB wireless adapter that simply plugs in to any USB connector on the laptop. These adaptors are available at retailers where you can buy computers as well as from many online sources. The adapter will come with any software and installation instructions you need.

Please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating if it has been what you needed, and thanks for asking here!

Medion mim2120 Wireless Problems

I had similar problem with Medion WIN 2140. The harddrive crashed, I bought a new drive and had to reinstall Windows from scratch since I had neither a backup or burned the reinstallation CD's. First I installed Windows7 and every driver/application/BIOS available from Medion's download site. At first my WIFI worked OK but somtime during the process og BIOS/driverupdate my WIFI antenna turned off. The antenna can be turned on/off with a easy access button (touchpad to the right of powerbutton) but WIFI button dows not work.

Medion's danish supporters told me that Windows7 is unsupported. So I had to reinstall using Vista. Still not able to turn on WIFI. I'm pretty sure that BIOS prior to version 1.0K (dated 06.01.2010) had a "ON" possibility but is now limited to "OFF" og "LAST STATE".

Medion support wouldn't og couldn't provide me a previous version of the BIOS. In fact Medion DK's support doesn't seem to know anything about their products.

However I have found the solution myself. Launch Manager application is needed for Easy Access buttons to work. Current version of the application is faulty. In registry i found that pressed keys call the file fn.exe, this file is not a part of the OS, Launch Manager or any other Medion driver/application.

I googled for and found the prevoius version 1.4.9 of Launch Manager. This version works without any problems on both Vista and Windows7.

I wrote to Medion support to replace the faulty application on their support site. But with my current Medion experience i daught they will do anything about it. So instead I post this reply to help others.

Updates not installing

I have found, depending on the update, that downloading them manually to your desktop, then installing them from there usally does the trick. Just write down the KB number of the update and go to and download.

Medion MIM2120 Laptop

Remove the large panel (7 screws) on the base of the machine.
The memory is situated under a black flexible plastic cover about 75 x 30 mm - amost directly below the earphone and mousepad area.

Memory is held in position by clips at each side - press them outwards and memory card will pop-up.

A second card can be fitted below and slightly higher than the first.

I have just fitted IGb and will probably put in another (max 2GB), - cost about £15.

Hope this is of use.
