Seriel port problem? or Harddisk Problem?

I have Pentium-D processor with Intel Motherboard, 80GB harddisk with 4 Partitions. I accessed net connection through TATA Indicom FWP phone through serielport. Now the phone is not detected,but COM1 properties working properly message coming. I unable to connect Internet. I called TATA Indicom internet provider, he attended and informed that the problem with seriel port since the same phone connected to his laptop and internet connection found ok in his laptop & not in me PC. I have doubt maybe any virus in MBR. So I want to reset my harddisk as freshone . How i will do? please helpme....advanced thanks

If thats the case try to reinstall again the driver and software of your TATA Indicom FWP phone and then if it wont work try to reformat it. If not work again check your phone. Hope it help

You have other information on the Harddrive as well as the info you are trying to install. If you have no data you wish to save then just format the drive before you install the OS.

The mother board is burn up and the fan do not come on in my dell 530s computer, can i transfer my file to my new dell Inspiron 570mt computer

Remove the harddisk from the old PC and connect it to the new pc's motherboard as secondary harddisk then start transferring files to the primary harddisk of the new PC.

i think the problem is with ur SATA HDD. To confirm, try another SATA HDD on ur mother board and see if the problem persists

I will advice you to exchange the HDD with someone or with brand new one as it seems to be problem with drivers of the sata.

have you updated your bios on your motherboard and windows vista automatically updates and find drivers so its ever not compatable or maybe your ide cables may be broke or the jumper is not set to master or cable select so could you write back to me at or post in forum if u have checked all the above and still cant solve the problem

Maximum HARDDISK CAPACITY FOR Intel 865GV motherboard

Yes, your board will support 320gb. I am not aware of a limit to how many gigabytes you can have per computer. I currently have 1.5 terabytes. 1500gb.

I think that Western Digital Hard discs are reliable with affordable cost. But if you put a little money more Seagate offers better stability.


Either or else I think Transcend is your solution and it is better to go to 2GB of Ram to see better improvements.
