Light on not powering up

    tv is showing double

  • Ricardogarci Apr 07, 2009

    When attempting to power up, the front LED blinks, an internal sound (similar to the one a hard drive makes) can be heard but no image or sound comes up.

    The LED is labeled TEMP/LAMP. My guess is that is one of the two. Since the TV has not been turned ON for the whole day, I assume that it's the lamp.

    I have a Hitachi Ultravision 55V569A

F your set all of a sudden won't come on, e.g., the screen is blank, but the LED on the under the screen next to the on/off switch keeps flashing, then there may be an internal fault on the set that needs to be reset. To force the reset, try this:

  • Unplug the set and wait a few seconds
  • Replug and see if the video returns
Whenever the set senses an internal fault through its monitoring circuitry, it essentially shuts down the set. The flashing LED provides the indication that a fault has been detected. Removing power to the set resets the monitoring circuitry. When plugged back in, the circuitry again does a check of the system. If it finds that there truly is a problem, then the set is shut down and the LED will again flash. In this case, you need to call a service tech. Most of the time, however, the unplug/replug routine is enough to get the set up and running.

Tv does not come on.the red light next to the

Count the number of blinks and that is an error code to allow you to diagnose a problem with the TV. Once you are sure about the error code, re-post here asking for what the error code means and how to fix it. Make sure you post the make, model of TV. I hope this helps and good luck!

My Toshiba TheaterView has no sound or picture

You may have overloaded your audio output with the external speakers(impedance or short wire problem?)as a result the audio out i.c maybe damaged which in turn may have blown one of several fuses in the power supply.maybe regular GMA type fuse or picofuses,you can try replacing blown fuse but if they blow right back you`ll need the help of a repairman

TP50F60/TP50F61 not working; no picture or sound;

Any malfunction associated with a flashing light usually indicates a circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed. Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost effective to repair.
