Question about Toshiba Satellite 3000-S353 Notebook
Bought this from a friend, it was working great, the kids were playing with it and the screen turned to black and I have turned it off and restarted but that didn't work, help
Prolly not the kids' fault. Computers this age frequently have problems with the backlight or inverter.
Assuming the screen was bright and crisp (not distorted) before it went out, and it's not an intermittent problem (the screen's stayed dead), it's more likely the backlight than the inverter.
You may be able to fix this yourself, but it's difficult. The instructions here:
Are very similar to taking apart a 3000-s353 screen (trust me, I've done it - actually, I'm typing this on an s353 that I had to replace the fl inverter in).
