Question about Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router W/4 Port Switch, Retail Box (DSLSBEFSR41)

Lynksys Help Good Evening, I have recently brought a wireless router from my office to my home. I have plugged it in and followed the steps as directed at network magic, and it still isnt working. The power Light on the front is repeadedly blinking. And the internet light is blinking in an off and on pace. My laptob still won't connect wirelessly to the comuter. The unit, (LYNKSYS 2.4 Ghz with speed booster) has been plugged into the motorolla Cable surfboard, as well as the computer i am emailing you from now. This computer is getting cnection directly, so i know it isnt an outside thing. Please help asap. ~Andy

It the power light is blinking.. then it seems to be a problem with your thin i can suggest you is .. just unplug the power cable.. and wait for 20 sec and then reconnect it and check.. if still the same , look at the back of your would find a reset button.. press and hold the reset button for 60 sec witha pen or a paper clip with the power connected.. and then disconnect power and wait for 30 sec and reconnect again and then check if still the same ..the your router has gone bad.. better replace your router..if its still in warranty..

Please reset the router by pressing the reset button on the router for 30 seconds.
This will require router to reconfigure the setings.

How do i set nat settings for lynksys Wireless-G Broadband Router for xbox 360



Step 1 : Connect Router - Computer

Step 2 : open Router Setup by typing on the address bar of internet explorer (Default Password is Admin )

Step 3 : Click Applications and Gaming

Step 4 : Click DMZ

Step 5 : Select Enable and Give the IP Address of the XBOX/PS3/Wii in it

Step 6 : Click Save settings

Step 7 : Unplug the Power cord from the router and turn Off XBOX /PS3/Wii

Step 8 : Plug the power cord back to the router and wait till the lights are Solid

Step 9 : Turn on the Xbox/PS3/Wii

Step 10 : Test the Connection

Thank you for posting your question.

To setup this wireless router on your network follow these instructions:

Step 1. Plug in your D-link router to the wall outlet to power on.

Step 2. Connect the ethernet cable on your DSL or Cable modem to the WAN PORT on the D-link router

Step 3. Power on your DSL or Cable modem

Step 4. Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to LAN Port 1 on the D-link router (if you have a wireless card on your computer, you may be able to connect to the router without using the Ethernet cable)

Step 5. Open Internet Explorer and type then press Enter

Step 6. You should be prompted for a username and password, type admin for the username and leave the password blank, hit OK

Step 7. You will be brought to the Home Screen

Step 8. Click the Run Wizard button

Step 9. You will then input information regarding a new password, your time zone.

Step 10. After that the Wizard will try to detect what type of internet connection you have with your Service Provider

Step 11. If it cannot auto detect, you will be asked to select a type of connection

Step 12. If you have a DSL modem, you will select PPPoE, if you have a cable modem, you will select Dynamic IP Address

Step 13. If you selected PPPoE you will have to enter the username and password that your ISP has given to you for your connection.

Step 14. You will then be taken to the Wireless Lan connection screen, you can change the SSID or leave it default. Also leave the Channel at 6

Step 15. You are then brought to the Encryption Screen. To enable encryption, select Enabled

Step 16. Select your WEP encryption 64-bit or 128-bit

Step 17. Enter the Hex key (up to 10 characters)

Step 18. You setup is complete, you will be asked to retart the router through the Wizard, click restart

I have a same problem

Hi, Follow the steps below to change the wireless channel on the home router:

1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
2. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
3. Access the router usually by typing '' or '' in the address bar.
4. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).

Please try the following settings on the router:

1. Click on wireless settings (under setup) from left menu.
2. Change the channel to 7. You may try other channels in the list to check which ever suits your environment the best. You may try 01,03,06,09,11
3. Apply settings to save the changes.

I had to buy a new lynksys wireless router and I have to put it on the computer so I can use it correctly.

Since this is a new router you can just run the setup CD that came with the router and follow the step by step procedure there , but if the setup CD failed you can just contact Linksys tech support so a tech can wlak you through with the process on how to manually configure the router, this is the number 800-3267114 they are open 24/7...

Connecting wireless router to laptop computer

Try changing the channel on the router. It would be better to isolate the problem first by trying to connect to other wireless networks on your laptop or having someone's laptop connect to your home wireless network.
