Re: toshiba theaterview

Power light flashes on 4 times (approx. 1 Sec. ea.) but no TV or VCR.
Last worked 10/04/08, set timer to turn off 30 minutes (which it did).
Same either Manual or Remote.

Re: toshiba theaterview

There are two main causes that come to mind for the problem you are describing, unfortunately it is kinda a **** shoot as to what one will be the exact cause of your problem.

The first would be what is called the Z801 module, they were very common to go bad and randomly cause all kinds of weird problems. The Z801 is a protection IC, I recommend you start with replacing it. The part number for this is HIC1019, you can find this many places online, I recommend

The second would be the convergence circuit, it is common to go bad intermittently and cause this set to shut down. If this is the case I recommend you replace both convergence output IC's The part number for these is STK392-110 you will need 2.

It is probably a power supply problem associated with standby circuit. If this circuit is bad the set hardly comes on and fails. This is a task for a technician to trace the fault through the whole power supply.

There is a possible poor connection of component in your TV or poor solder or that would be the result of Power IC which is already a technician to fix the poor solder and or replace the IC that cause the problem

I had this same problem with my Mitsubishi it is when you have fast on mode set it pre warms the bulb to much. I turneed it off and now the bulb has lasted much longer Setting the Power-On Mode feature You can select either Power-Saving or Fast mode. If you select Power-Saving mode and you turn off the TV, it can take several seconds for the picture to appear when you turn on the TV again. Power-Saving mode saves more power than Fast mode. See "Specifications" on page 66 for details. If you select Fast mode and the TV is turned off, the TV will stay in Standby mode for several minutes (see Note below). If the TV is turned on from Standby mode, the full picture appears immediately. To set the Power-On Mode feature: 1 Press Y and open the Setup menu. 2 Highlight Power-On Mode and press c. 3 Press b or B to select either Fast or Power-Saving and press T. Note: If Power-On Mode is set to Fast and you turn off the TV, the following will occur for a few minutes: • The screen (lamp) lights dimly; and • The fans continue to run. This is a function of the Power-On Fast Shutdown mode and is not a TV malfunction. If you do not prefer this, set the PowerOn Mode feature to Power-Saving. When the Power-On Mode feature is set to Power-Saving, if you repeatedly turn the TV on and off in a short period of time, the useful service life of the lamp may be shorter than the average useful service life (- page 63).
this is from your manual not my Mitsubishi please rate this answer if you felt it was useful.

Toshiba MW24FM3 24 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo

A common problem with this model are leaky transistors in the relay drive circuit that powers on the TV. That is electrical leakage, not anything physical you can see. The transistors should be labeled Q1701 and Q1702, and would have to be replaced by soldering, so a trip to a repair shop may be necessary. The DVD uses a standby power supply I believe, which is why it appears to work OK.

Toshiba MD20FP3 Combo does not turn on. Help!

Not unless you have taken the time to learn all the safety issues concerning the HI voltage safety facts, in the repair of electronics? It sounds like your tv has a problem in the sweep/power supply circuits, and since these sets have NO user serviceable parts< its best too leave these types of repairs to a certified electronic technician. Good Luck
