I deleted something in regetit, touchpad dont work!

Hi there,
If you oare using a windows based operating system.
On your keyboard hold the windows logo and press the letter R
When the run box comes up type in regedit
go to this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
delete the upper and lower filters
Reset the computer and check if the cd/dvd drive will now work.

try deleting upper and lower filters from your registry file. this is the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
then restart your computer

if you are using xp:start->run->regedit->
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} ***right click on upper and lower filters then click delete*** -dont forget to restart the machine...Cheers!!!

STEP 1:

Go to device manager:

START - RIght click on my comp - manage - device manager :

When in device manager, look for:

IDE ATA ATA/ATAPI controllers

click on plus sign to expand the tree

right click on the IDE controller that is handling the CD/DVD drive in question

select uninstall

reboot your computer .

STEP 2 :
Delete Upper and Lower filter :

start : run -
type in regedit -expand hkey local machine -
expand system - xpand current control set - look for control , expand it - under control - expand class - look for the address ::: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
- click on the address - towards the right pane you would find upper and lower filters - right click on both and delete it - after uninstalling the upper and lower filters restart the system - aftre the restart check for the functionality of the drive -

Step 3: if bot the steps above does not work then a firmware update on the dvd drive can be performed - the firmware is a software update for the dvd drive and you would be able to find it on the manufacturer website -

In the run box type regedit, go to HKEY LOCAL MACHINE - SYSTEM - Control Set001 - Control - Class - {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - On the right hand side check for upper or lower filters if you find one delete it.
Do the same with Control Set002 and Current Control set.
Restart the computer, if it still doesnt work then open device manager by rt click my computer- properties - hardware- device manager - uninstall the cd dvd drive and also ATA Channel 0 and ATA Channel1 restart the computer .
If still issue is not resolved then reseat the dvd drive.

try to run system restore. but if it doesnt work. check the functionality of the drive in safe mode (by pressing f8 when the computer turns on, dont wait for the windows logo to come up, you need to press f8 before the windows logo screen) try to explore whats on the disk and if it works. delete upper and lower filter by following the path. click start, click run, type regedit, hkey local machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/class/4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318
if you upper filter and lower filter, delete both. restart th computer and that should do it.

Lets do this.

1. Close all programs
2.Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter.
3.click HKEY LOCAL MACHINE - SYSTEM - Current control set - control - class - select {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} - on the right hand side you'll find upper filters and lower filters entries - right click and delete both(Upper and lower filters) - restart your computer and hope this works for you,

If the drive still spins up when you insert a disk it sounds like the lasers have picked up dirt/dust or have burnt out. Try opening the drive door and blowing hard into the aperture (without spitting). If that doesn't help then I would suggest replacing the drive. I assume that you have tried the disks in another machine and that they run fine.

follow these steps
Click start
Click run
type regedit
keep clicking the plus sign next to
Hkey local machine>>System>>Current ControlSet>>Control>>Class
Under class click on the first folder that starts fro 4D and it would be like 4D36E965
Now at the right hand side you will see options like upper filters and lower filters just right click and delte them
If you dont see both of them no worries delete the one that you see .After this restart your system.and check
