Yes...I have had the same problem and would like to get photos off a disk but said disk error and now will not let me back in to the disk.

I, too, get a disc error message; I know the quoted cost for repair of this admittedly obsolete camera is more than a more modern one, but I would still like to get it working--it is packed with so many obscure features that I need constant reference to the manual, but I enjoy the thing.

I got solution for this problem.

On your camer on the top go to Set Up.
- scroll down to Disc Tool 1,
- scroll down to Format,
- click to the right and OK.
It should take care of it self for couple of minutes.

P.S I did lost all of the pictures that were on CD.

I hope that I helped some of you. Good Luck!

When i put a tape in to watch,or record, the video camera beeps and C:3123 appears i have tried everything

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
  3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
  4. Turn on the camcorder.
  5. If the error message appears, service may be required.
I found many people saying that they had this error and "smacked" the camera... and then it started working. This would tell us that it is a mechanical error... so, at your own risk, if the above steps don't work, I would try smacking it a bit, maybe something mechanical is "stuck".

When I turn on the camera it beeps and an error that reads lens error, restart camera appears and turns off. How do I fix this problem?

Unfortunately a "lens error" message is not something that you will be able to fix. This error indicates a system failure and requires the camera to be sent in for servicing and repair.

You may find it more cost effective to purchase a new camera as opposed to the repair price on your current camera.

Unable to load games on ps3 comes up error disc, games worked well previously

if you switch your ps3 onto standby and leave it a min
then you need to hold the on button in till it beeps 3 times then release it will go bk onto standby
then you need to hold it again till it beeps 3 times but last beep will be a double fast beep
a menu should appear on screen
chose the one that says files
this will restore the lens drive and it will load discs

Cannot view subject in view finding

Solution: Turn the camera on. Put it into camera mode so the lens opens. Then push up on the underside of the lens, you'll see the screen light up and it can now take pictures. This worked for me for a month or two. The problem is that I have to keep pushing harder and harder to get it to turn on, and now it turns back off as soon as I stop pushing. So I have to get a new camera. This is a widespread problem with this camera. I previously paid Panasonic the $162 to fix the zoom freezing up. I'm not paying again.

Coolpix lens opens retracts opens then closes again and lens error appears

When you turn the camera on the lens comes out and has parameters when extending to focus, if the lens does not open fully it sees a problem and then closes.

there are tiny plastic gears inside and may have chipped or a piece of sand got in causing the lens to jamb. "very fragile"

one solution is to ask a camera repair shop how much a lens mechanism would be to replace. (if cost is more than 1/2 of what you paid dont bother)

another solution is to have someone sell your camera on an auction site for parts, to make some money towards another camera purchase

Disc wont read

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Error message

my camera did the same thing, lens retracts 3 or 4 times, and then proceeded with an error message "turn off and on again". I pressed the power button probably about 10 times, didn't work, so then i gave it a good smack on the top of the frame a few times while repeatedly pressing the power button and it did the trick. Hasn't gave me problems since...hope it helps

Disc error

if you get a disc error, DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR the data.

When you get a disc error, turn the camera off, turn the camera back on. When prompted to repair the data, select NO.

The camera should prompt you to Format the disk, select no.

you should go back to a normal camera screen, at this point push the FINALIZE button on the outside of the camera to finalize the disc.

This is your only option to save the data.

Never try to repair the bad data, it never works.

I have done this on two occasions, and it worked both times.
