I cannot get the D-Link DP 311U that I have been using with my old Lexmark 312 printer to work with my new HP laserjet 1018 printer. Is the DP 311U just not able to serve my new HP printer, or am I failing to do something in the installation process? thank you

I have not yet tried this fix because of more pressing things I have needed to do. I will be trying it soon. Thank you

Have you installed the new drivers for your HP?
Personally, on all HP Printers, I use only HP products, mainly Jetdirect Print Servers, but you might try creating a TCP Port Printer (via your Printer Install Wizard) and use that. You only need to know the IPAddress of the DLink and the Drivers for the HP Printer.
