Question about EliteGroup MB ECS N FORCE 410 C51G-M754 Motherboard

1 Answer

Motherboard C51G-M754 i just purchased this motherboard with a AMD processor as a combo pack from newegg.com, and i think i have it all hooked up right, but the only thing working on here is the fans? I went step by step through the instructions and the only think i hadn't heard of in the booklet was the jumpers? i have no idea about these, but for the most part i have a pretty good idea how to do the rest of the motherboard and hardrive etc, installation. I was just wondering if i have a bad motherboard or if i am just an idiot and hooked up wrong, or don't have the right components. Thanks

well you see, i am using an older 20 pin power supply and it does not have that option of the 4 pin power cable; also i do not have a heatsink yet, i am still waiting on it to come to my house, but the ram is in there fine, and i asked around and i know the motherboard should still run at least without those other power connections and heatsink on it.

    Thanks

This may be a silly question, but have you plugged the 4 pin power cable to the motherboard as well as the long power plug.
You will see the 4 pin power slot fairly close to the heatsink.
Jumpers generally come already set.
Make sure you have seated everything correctly, take out the ram and when you put it back in hold your fingers under the mobo, there may not be enough support under the ram slots therefore the mobo will bow and sometimes the middle of the ram will not be touching the slots.
Hope this works.

Will a dual core or multi core processor fit into and work in a elitegroup 761gx-m754 motherboard?

Unfortunately there are no dual core CPUs for this motherboard. The 761GX-M754 motherboard has a 754 socket which supports the Athlon 64 / Sempron CPU. AMD never released a dual core CPU for the socket.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Can i fit a bigger processor to my ASUS K8V-MX Motherboard and mybe more ram and if so where can i purchase it from

This motherboard supports a AMD Athlon 64 / Sempron processor (Socket 754). Since this is an older unit you will have to search on Ebay for a processor.
As for the RAM you will need DDR 400, this can easily be purchased at www.newegg.com There is a maximum of 2 gb on your motherboard.

I need to know what is this number of the amd processors like this HDX925WFGMBOX. if my motherboard dont say that number of that proccesor is saying that it doesn't support it?

Not neccessarily. The HDX####### number is the serial number of the processor. But as long as the cpu-socket types are the same on the cpu and motherboard, it should be compatible for the most part. Some cpu/motherboard combos require a BIOS update on the motherboard but thats probably not the issue here. AMD Phenom II's like yours are usually socket AM3, so just make sure that your motherboard is also a socket AM3 and you should be okay.

Visit your motherboard vendors website and look up the model number of your board. It should tell you what socket compatibility it has. Or you could even go to newegg.com and look up both the cpu and the motherboard to see if they match up.

ECS C51G-M754 window 7 Drivers

Hello fozy, Hi, since windows 7 is still new, most likely there is no available yet driver for public download, you need to wait for it, OR you can call and if possible ask for a copy from your dealer for a burn copy of the driver. regularly check the ECS website for updates too.

Better processor

Not sure which family of AMD Athlon you mean, probably just Athlon, not AthlonXP or other, but I do know that 2400+ isn't 2.00ghz, however, that aside, there are alot of processors supported by this motherboard, but in specific families.

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=558&maincat_no=1

This is a link to MSI's website and the CPU Compatibility list for this Motherboard. The AthlonXP 3000+ w/ 166/333 FSB is the Fastest this board will support, and as to where you can find it, there are numerous online stores that may still carry this. A few to check would be CDW (www.cdw.com), TigerDirect (www.tigerdirect.com), NewEgg (www.newegg.com) and ChiefValue (www.chiefvalue.com) to name a few. These are all sites that I have personally done business with to know they are legitimate companies.

Hope this helps!
