Change the screen resolution to something safe bofore you attempt to connect to your TV. i.e 1024 x 768. This should give you a picture & you will then need to adjust to the native resolution of your TV.

I am trying to hookup a Samsung tv to my dish network where I previously had a Sony hookup and I'm getting a "no cable connected" notice on the tv screen

Hook up your Dish receiver to HDMI 1 port on your TV. Press the input button on your TV remote to change the input to HDMI 1 and you should get a picture on your TV.

How to hook up to panasonic tv & sony dvd player

DVD output (HDMI) to HDMI input on TV will transfer both audio and video from DVD to TV. Audio output on TV to unused Input on Yamaha receiver (Aux, CD, etc.). This hookup will allow DVD and TV channels audio playback through your Yamaha receiver. Remember to test any/all new hookups or connections using minimum settings (volume, etc.), and bring up levels slowly for the initial testing.

HI, I have a 42 toshiba regza tv that is 3 years old when watching tv the screen goes blank and the sound is still there i power it off then back on and the picture is fine. Somtimes wont happen for days...

If you are using a hdmi cable take it off and switch to component cables if the problem goes away keep it that way. Sometimes the hdmi hookups have bugs like this.

Can't see image with shaw pvr on toshiba 32hl57

I presume you followed the instructions in the TV manual during hookup and did not hook up with the units powered up and did select the correct input with the remote?

If you have another unit that uses HDMI try a direct hookup with it to see if the HDMI input is working.

HDMI units do not like being hooked up when units involved are powered up and on--seen more than a few where this was the problem and it is worth a try if the Owner Manual does not help you.

How to connect to a sony tv

If your laptop has an HDMI port you can buy an HDMI cable and connect to your Sony TV. Most TVs now come with an HDMI cable
Once connected your TV should show the screen from your laptop if not
press Function and F5 buttons simultaneously! Alternatively you can restart your computer!
Still problem! Go to control panel and click on display and choose Sony TV good luck!

HDMI cable stops displaying an image after 15-20 minutes

The problem could either be with the HDMI cable or with the (either tv or laptop connection ports). There could be a few other factors to consider, but I would try a new cable if you happen to have one lying around.

Toshiba 52hm84 DLP-HDMI Component has been compromised?

This is a wild guess, but I believe that you are being **** by the movie industry. The HDMI protocol includes a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management) for high resolution content called: High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection Basically this means that the media (disk or broadcast) instructs the player (in your case the cable box) to insist that any downstream devices (your TV) is industry and DRM compliant. Specifically this evil protection scheme is designed to plug the analog hole and make it impossible for you to record or copy the movie by using an analog output from your TV. This even restricts the size of the TV you can play the movie on, thus preventing pubs and bars from displaying the content on big screen TVs without paying royalties. The message means that the manufacturer of your TV has refused to toe the industry line. 1984 Anyone ? Martin
