Question about The Singing Machine Singing Machine SME399 Dual Cassette Karaoke System w/AM/FM Radio Boombox

Open Question

Audio logic karoake machine

My daughter's karoake machine will not work. It shows an E when a disc is put in. It doesn't sound like the disc is spinning. I've used appropriate disks for the machine. Thanks, Levi

The CD part of my player does not start.

From what it sounds like, the laser lens in your cd player is having trouble reading discs. Is it just one cd or all? assuming it's all. you make want to get a cd lens cleaner's basically a cd with little bristles on the bottom designed to 'sweep away' the dust that accumulates on the lens. However, should you do that a few times (i usually give it about five good runs) and it still doesnt work, try another disc and listen closely for any sort of 'out of place' clicking noises....especially a monotonous repetitively click or ticking.... that usually indicates that the lens carriage has somehow jammed or come off track and needs to be replaced or refitted. refitting them on the track isnt difficult and once you open it up it's pretty self explanatory if you're mechanically inclined. Hope this helps.

Aux won't work to tv

The TV should have two sets of AUXilliary ports. Audio In and Audio Out. Video IN and Video Out.
On TV plug in OUT, on the other device should be plugged in IN.

How do I record from a tape cassette to a cd?

You cannot, with this device. It doesn't have a CD-burner... those are usually only found in VERY high end audio systems, or on home computers. That said, you can find devices on the internet that will let you rip audio tracks from a cassette player to an MP3 file, which you can then burn to a CD or put on your computer.

CD Player does not turn

how long have you been using this player and when did this begin?

Remove the disc and try another. If the player refuses to eject the disc, remove it from the wall and fix it back and fix it back again. Then turn the player on.

If the player still gets stuck on "loading" mode for other disc, then it means the laser is weak.

The lens is weak such that it cannot load data on discs. Its spinning, trying to load, but can't because of the weak laser.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all discs again.

On my machine, which is pretty old by now, the sound on audio cassette tapes is distorted - the singer sounds like he/she is under water. The machine functioned perfectly for a very long time. Is just...

When's the last time you cleaned the heads AND capstan? (Google it) Look at the edges of your tapes. Any irregularities will show up as warble or dropouts on the left channel. Also treat and store the tapes like you want them to last forever. It's pretty much covered on the cardboard insert that comes with a blank tape.

We have a panasonic rx d15, not used it for a while. Put a cd in, but shows as no cd.... won't play. Any ideas please. Have tried different cds, but still show as no cd.

If it has been a while the laser lens is probably dirty and needs cleaning, you can buy a disc cleaning kit and load it in the machine. The other option is to dis-assemble the unit and use a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol being careful to clean it gently. If this fails a new assembly will be needed but this would not be cost effective.

PD5203 says no disc when disc is in the player

If this problem occurs only at this cd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn?t solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

Hello, my Philips AZ1145 shows "no disc" despite I put normal ou RW CD discs, old or new. Can I fix it or is it for garbage ?... Thanks

First try a normal shop purchased cd (you must have at least one laying about). If that works, GREAT it means that your boombox does not like cdrw discs (not many do unless specifically stated on the unit with a CDr/RW logo). If it still refuses to play ball, try a cd lense cleaner. If after all that, you're still getting nowhere, my guess is that the lense has had it's day. Although these can be replaced, on a unit like this it's actually cheaper to buy a new boom box.
Best of luck
