Question about Kenwood DNX7100 Car Video Player
Anyone know how to fix this?? Brand new unit, I put a disc in, and the screen will not come back up!! Only way to get it to come back up is to turn off the ignition and after about 20 seconds it will come back up.
My kenwood 7100 DNX will not play DVD's or CD's. It sucks because I have had the unit for 2yrs and now it does this. Can it be fixed? Will they have to replace the DVD mechanism, and how much will that cost since its not under warranty?

My DNX7100 is having tilt problems but it is worse than anything I've read online. It acts as though it is completely confused about tilting. When I start the car, it tilts to a random spot. When I stop the car, it tilts to a random spot. When I go to the tilt menu, to play around with the settings it does what it wants to do. If I press 2, it might change the setting to 5 itself but actually tilt into the -1 position.........if that makes any sense. Kenwood wants me to send it in for repair and I'm not surprised. Those so-called tech guys are clueless most of the time.

I had the exact same problem. I had to turn off my car completely and thirty seconds later the screen would close. Sent it to Kenwood twice and on the second time they said thay had to replace the whole dvd mechanism. I had my 1000.00 dollar stereo tied up for nearly a month if you count the first 9 days that a local kenwood repair center had it. Love the unit, but hated that problem. Oh, it was done under warranty.

I'm relief that I'm not the only one with this problem. It is weird. I put in a DVD with avi's on it, and it would not play. I tried ejecting the disc... the screen tilted down, but the disc would not come out and hitting the eject button again would not tilt the screen back. Instead of turning off the ignition, I just reset the unit. What a pain.
