Question about Canon PowerShot A530 Digital Camera
It goes up and down but doesn't click.
We had the same problem with my daughters camera. I'm not sure if she dropped it or what happen but it quit taking pictures. We ordered a new cover for $30.00 from San Diego camera solutions. The new cover came and we replaced it. There are 8 small screws to remove the cover. When I removed the cover we had two pieces fall out. These pieces needed to be put back to make a circuit for the camera to take a picture. I would try to remove your cover and see if you have any lose pieces. Ours were right under the button you puch to take the picture. With a small tweezers we were able to put them back on. We then put on the new cover and the camers works great. I'm not sure if we actually needed a new cover or not -- Good Luck

I don't think this problem is fixable. Never force the lens closed, just restart it into both regular and playback mode.
