There are 2 posibilities for having a low battery. 1) Your main backup battery for the control panel is low, or 2) You have wireless transmitters in your system that use small batteries and need to be replaced. To replace the control panel's battery look for a large metal box which is the control panel. These panels are normally located either in the basement or a 1st floor closet. Open the panel if you have a key. If you do not have a key take a pry bar and pop the box so it opens. Inside you will find an electronic motherboard with a black & red wire which is plugged into the battery. Grab a hold of the connector at the battery and wiggle/pull until the wire/connector disengages. Do the same for the other wire. Take the battery to a battery warehouse store and have them match it up. Be sure when reconnecting the new battery to plug the black wire/connector into the balck marked side of the battey and red to red. If you have a wireless system you will need to pull apart one of the transmitters & see the type of battery used. Replace all the batteries at the same time. They will last normally 3-5 years. The control panel's battery will last about 5 years.
