Re: power

This is a Pro DJ unit. It does not have a turntable in it. It has a CD in it. DO NOT OPEN IT! You will endanger your health and you will possibly destroy half the Integrated Circuits inside. It has several microprocessors(computers) inside. Any of these can be bad, or a thousand other parts. You will not be able to solder or unsolder any of the parts inside, as they are surface mounted components. For more information, or should you have more questions, please visit my website at You may contact me directly through the website. Thank you.

Re: power

You need to check internally, Transformer/rectifier could be bad, disconnected wire, blown internal fuse. Can you rub the needle with your finger and get sound? Is it just the table not turning or is the needle not getting "power" either?

Power problem, CDJ wont turn on propperly as it is from the US and i live in Birmingham UK

The step down adapter should work fine as long it supplies the voltage and any other ratings shown on the turntable power supply indication pannel. However the problem might already have happened. If the fuses were before the power entered the mains transformer of the unit, then if they were set to blow above the USA voltage then things could be OK. However if the the fuses were in the secondary output from the transformer then the mains will have caused possible damage to the transformer. Maybe even elsewhere.

Hi I'm getting a 8709 error code from my CDJ 800 any idea how to fix this?

According to Pioneer there are 2 possible faults associated with this error.

Option 1 - Error in mechanical operations Unrecoverable: Turn the power off. The error indication will be cleared. If the error still shows then it's Option 2.

Option 2 - Communication error between operating section and main section The error indication is cleared when the communication is finished (if it can finish).

Communication fault between the control interface (the PCB with all the switches on) and the main PCB (the motherboard in the base of the unit). It could be that the main ribbon cable that connects between the two has come loose or damaged. The control interface works on a digital PCM system, and if there is a problem with this, the motherboard throws a fit.

CDJ-200; Only the power button works, nothing else.

I have the same unit accept mine was 1000, mine did the same thing, im fairly electrical incline, but its much more complicate trying to fix it your self, I can recall contacting the manufacture and they had me ship the unit to closet authorized dealer and have it repair. If it still in warranty, you need to contact them asap. 1 (866) 214-1310

Audio cuttin out on my CDJ 800

Do you mean the RCA connection (red/white) on the rear of the unit? If so, then yes, more than likely it might have come loose, or damaged. If your comfortable opening it up, you can attempt to repair yourself. Otherwise, I would suggest taking it to a service professional.

Have you tried a different set of cables?

Always remember, whenever removing your cables, you want to grab the cables by the head of the connection, and never by the actual cable itself - you also don't want to yank your cables loose - this is usually what causes these sorts of connection problems.

No power

You probably have a bad transformer. This is not an easy fix. You will need to contact a service professional for assistance.
