Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer
I have changed the ink cartridges on my printer, but no matter what I do, repeated cleaning, shaking up cartridge etc as advised, the black will not print althouth the other colours are fine. I desperately need this for my work. What is wrong?
I had the same problem with Magenta 8. Apparrently there is a chip in the cartridges that has an expiration date that prevents the printer from recognizing the cartridge after that date. I called Canon to find out where that date is located on the cartridge or packaging so when I buy them on sale as I did, I will be aware how long it's good for. They told me that there is no expiration date and the ink is good indifinitely. I told them what I heard about the chip and was promptly put on hold. When they got back on the phone, they told me they were sending me a new cartridge "as a courtesy." Sound fishy?
