Re: Dust Drum

Ok when you pull the drum out you should see a blue tab . You take that tab and slide it back and forth and this will clean the corona wire. Now when your finished make sure the tab is placed back from where you first started. I hope this helps !

Problem with Konica 7145.. When i make copies it duplicates some lines and reprints them lower on page (more faded) and also the first lines of the copy are blured in a point that they are not readabl

Manousos Xatzidakis:

I would take another look at the drum cleaning blade as well as the CEL and PTL. Any time I've had problems with double images, the drum carriage and parts associated to it have been the problem. I remember one notable case where I removed and shrouded the drum to protect it from light, cleaned both the charge corona and the discharge corona, cleaned the PCL and the PTL of toner dust, vacuumed the drum carriage of toner dust, cleaned the developer unit and replaced the developer. I finally got clear copies and the customer was satisfied.

The machine say's remove the drum the corona wire needs cleaning. It is an intelefax 2820

The corona wire is a very very thin golden wire that attracts toner resudue with static due to a high voltage so DO NOT TOUCH WHEN COPIER IS PLUGGED IN, and be very very cairful it is fragile, you can clean it with a very very soft brush or dust it off very very delicately with a can of air, as for removing the drum refer to the manual usualy not very hard to do

NOTICE ALL THE VERY'S it is VERY important to be VERY delicate with the corona wire

Have a VERY nice day :)

Dust on drum is an issue with the corona wire. Use the blue tab on top of the drum unit. Slide it back and forth 10+ times and this should correct your issue.

You need to open the front cover of the machine and remove the cartridge( drum and toner) On the tope right there is a tab that you need to slide from left to right about 20 times, then bring back to home position

Corona wire

I was getting the clean the corona wire problem message even after repeated cleanings.  Before this problem occured the toner light was flashing warning of low toner. When I got the clean the wire pop up the toner light was on all the time indicating the toner was depleated.  So, I thought I would try replacing the toner cartridge and see what happened. I opened the new toner box and noticed on the foil packege specific instructions to clean the corona wire when installing the new toner.  I installed the new toner and cleaned the wire one more time. I then reinstalled the drum and toner assembly into the printer and the clean the corona wire message did not come up again.  The printer now works fine.

Dust on Drum...

I had this problem too. I took out the drum and vacuum the drum with a vacuum cleaner ( no brush ) while at the same time manually rotate the drum cyclinder. It worked. After a month or two, you might have to do it again. But everytime, it solved the dust problem.
