Question about Microwave Ovens
My microwave just started making a buzzing noise. It is not in use. Just buzzes until you open the door. Then buzzing stops. The panel on the right (where the food codes are) is really hot as is the glass on the door. It had not been used within an hour so it shouldn't be warm at all. I have turned off the breaker until it can be looked at. What is a possible cause?
The brand and model number can help us pinpoint it, but it sounds as though it is cooking.
It also sounds like the cooling fan is not running durng this error condition, which could overheat and destroy the magnetron.
I would suspect a bad door switch or door switch mount, or possibly a stuck relay on the control circuit board.
Please reply back with your brand and model so we can help further. Thanks.
