Oven lock engaging and disengaging

I have a frigidaire fgf355cgsc.
It was in storage for 2 yrs.
Hooked it up. all works well except for auto lock.
The light is on for the lock mode, and at 30 second intervals it locks and unlocks. It will not stop. Can not use any part of the oven or broiler due to this. Tried doing the self cleaning mode, and when completed, it started all over again. It has ben doing this for 3 days now.

How do I cancel this locking and unlocking mode so my oven can be used?

Re: Oven lock engaging and disengaging

Unplug the oven from the outlet, and wait 24 hours or overnight, and plug it back in. It should unlock and work ok.

Putting door back on but hinge wont release to put back on

Hi Susan, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble putting the door back on your Frigidaire wall oven. Without knowing exactly how you removed the door I cannot say with certainty how to reattach the door. However, when removing the door did you pull up the lock located on both hinge supports and engage it in the hinge lever hooks? You might have had to apply a little downward pressure on the door to pull the locks fully over the hinge lever hooks. Then grab the door by the sides and pull the bottom of the door up and toward you to disengage the hinge supports. If so, then to reattached the door grab the door by the sides; place the hinge supports in the hinge slots. Open the door to the fully opened position. Disengage the lock from the hinge lever hooks on both sides. Make sure the hinge supports are fully engaged before unlocking the hinge levers. Then close the oven door. There are instructions with images to remove and replace the oven door in the owner's manual. I hope this information proves helpful for you.

I have a frigidaire self cleanig oven and I want to clean it. I pushed the clean button and it lopcks the door but it does not get hot and act like it is cleaning. The oven is over 6 yrs old

These may be dumb questions... but do your bake and broil typically work correctly? What model do you have?

Depending on model, you should be able to press clean, high or low (2 or 3 hrs), then clean again. At that point the door should lock and the bake element should begin to get hot.

I started to clean the oven and just befor the lock locked, I checked inside. The oven door now is stuck and the lock engaged. What can I do?

Try switching the power off at the wall switch and then back on again. It may be that you also have to wait for the oven to go through the clean cycle as it is safety locked during auto clean.
