Microphone does not work

try to download sigmatel audio at dell support

Click Microphone boast in Microphone Advance settings.

Make sure the Wave volume is turned up in your advanced settings and then check the level should be fine after that. If its not I would think It may be the Mic. did you try another Mic. If so Then you may have to uninstall the audio drivers and reinstall them I sure hope this help you out, Oh yeah I once had the same problem and Yahoo Messenger took over the Mic system and I had to unistall that program too, I don't think thats it but when you have things to try to diaignos one of them just may work for you. my microphone stopped working after installing firefox. Removed Firefox now microphone works perfectly!
