Canon Z85 film door clasp is broken

Ebay wants $20 + shipping for a film door. Any other fix besides Duck tape? Anybody sell a clip or a repair kit?

Re: Canon Z85 film door clasp is broken

I would spring for the clip. Mine broke in the same manner but no one told me it could be fixed, so I got a different camera. I have NEVER had a camera that took such great photos as my Z85, and wish I had hung onto it.

The battery cover is broken and will not clip into place. Can I buy a replacement?

Have you searched for one on eBay? Even if you don't see it, you can e-mail one of the sellers of replacement battery doors and ask if they might have one for your model.

Hi I have a provlem, I have a canon xl1 and when I try to open it to tack the mini dv out but the only thing it opens its the door but the mini dv dose not comes out, if someone have some recommendation it...

You have to have a battery attached in order for the camera to eject the tape, also sometimes if you don't open the door all the way it won't eject the tape either. If it's not that the DV deck may be broken and you could send it in to the company or you could pay a local camera repair company to fix it.

My Ricoh KR-5 won't keep the film door closed. How

The film doors in most 35mm SLR's is spring loaded with a release from the rewind knob. Chances are your spring has lost tension, slipped out of place, or the teeth that grab the door have been damaged. You can always use the handyman's secret weapon (duct tape) to fix the problem, but if you're looking for a more permanent and less gooey and unattractive solution you're going to need to find a shop.

If there aren't any locally, you can find some online, or google KEH Camera if you're not sure who online is reputable. It'll run you $35 for a repair estimate which is waived if you decide to have the work done. Keep in mind some parts, for some cameras, are hard or impossible to come by so your model may or may not be able to be repaired, or may be priced outside of what you're willing to pay to have repaired.

I have a brand new Olympia EL 1124 New in the box.How much can I list it for sale? What is the price of it? it was a gift no receipt.

The EL 1124 is considered a "toy camera" and despite a "List Price" of $300, these cameras routinely sell new for between $10 and $20 (source: eBay, I bought 20 of them for about $7 each and gave them away as door prizes at two affairs. The so-called list price made them look like great giveaways.

Canon Command Back T70

I would try ebay. Check for sellers who sell serviced and reconditioned cameras. They will often have spares salvaged from cameras broken beyond repair.

Avoid cameras sold for spares or repair. This is often used as an excuse to sell junk, but not always.

A reputable seller who sells for spares sholud be able to tell you if a particular part is functional or not, and will refund if they turn out to be mistaken.

Canon A1 shutter release delay

What you have is what is called "Impact damage" It depends how much you like your camera? You can fix it, replace it or toss it. I recommend fixing it, those cameras are becoming collectors items these days. I have a friend who repairs film cameras, he repairs it, cleans it, lubricates it and callibrates it, makes it like brand new again. At a very afforable price.

Polaroid film for Captiva

Polaroid 500 films for Captiva are not distributed anymore.

You can still order them from Kodac or at any service shop.

The only online place where you can buy it is on Ebay:
Polaroid 500 filmpack - 10 picturess.gif
Type polaroid 500 into Ebay bar in your country to find offers.

Regarding Fuji, this is the most similar product (Australia), I am not sure they work on captiva, some seller sells them for polaroid 500
More offers (worldwide)::

Fujifilm FP-100C $9 to $14 - 8 stores Fujifilm FP-100C - 4 x 5" $20 to $33 - 5 stores

I would order just one Fuji pack, to test it, I was in your shoes, if it does not work get a good provision of Polaroid 500 from ebay.

Replacing battery cover door on Canon AL-1

Very easy to replace door. Remove base plate (3 screws). Remove 1 screw found in battery compartment. Lift corner of battery compartment (right where you took the screw out) up about 1/4". No more or you will break the opposite corner. Use a piece of picture hanging wire and push the hinge pin from the outside toward the inside until you can grab it with tweezers and pull it right out. Rest is simple.

Broken rewind tab for Nikon EM 35mm SLR

If you can locate the parts, sure, it's an easy DIY. Ebay or USCamera will likely have a knob. The bad news is they are kind of pricy. 10-20 dollars for the part.
