I had a simliar problem with my sisters camera on her computer, although sometimes it would appear, then disappear shortly after.

i checked drivers and re-installed and all the normal stuff most do, but the actual problem was that the USB port it was plugged into was the problem... since i got them a new USB expansion slot which was USB 2....but what i can only come up with, is that since the USB ports on the motherboard are only USB 1...the expansion slot i put in was running too quick for the computer to receive the data, and it just wouldn't recognise the camera.

i don't know if that's true or not, but when i plugged the camera into the USB port on the main computer board, everything worked fine....

but i could be steering you in the wrong direction if this seems like a load of bull.

No dialogue box

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

V505 Dell Printer Connected by USB

Try to check the USB in the device manager if did not disable. To goto device manager right click the My Computer on the screen and click properties. Dialogue box appears click on the Hardware and click Device Manager. Another dialogue box appear then just see at the bottom of the dialogue box if the Universal Serial Bus Controllers are did not have question mark (?) with yellow color. If don't have mark like that try to change your USB cable then insert it again to your printer. But if they have a mark like that you need to right click the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and click Update driver.

I'm not a blonde- but the damn GE Easycam is making me crazy.

Marueen, GE computer accessories are now sold and supported by Jasco. Their download page has drivers for your webcam; unfortunately they don?t have any Vista certified drivers. Unfortunately lots of hardware manufacturers are not creating new Vista capable drivers for older equipment and I suspect Jasco will follow the trend as well. You can try downloading the latest XP driver from their site and seeing how it works but in the long run you may just be better off getting a more mainstream product with Vista drivers. Jasco download page: http://www.jascoproducts.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/pro/computer_software_cams.html?L+scstore+ndrt4702ffcebece Let us know if you have any other questions and please don?t forget to rate this post.
