It sounds like your dvd drive is dead if its still under warranty you should just send it back to microsoft the only other thing you could do is buy a replacement dvd drive and put it in yourself but only do that if microsoft wont take it or you'll void your warranty

Blinking green light

The blinking green light is because your 360 is not understanding that the disc tray is closed. That's also the reason that the tray comes back open. It's not getting fully closed. Next time you insert a gamepush the drive closed with your hand. You'll know the drive is closed when the light stops blinking.

As soon as i turn on my 360 the disk tray light wont stop blinking and disks wont read

Listen close and see if you hear the tray motor running. If you do then, most likely, the belt and pulleys that move the disk tray are dirty. Which might also explain not being able to read disks. Here's what to do: Pull the face plate off of the 360. This will NOT void your warranty. Beneath the disc tray (look under and "into" the tray) you should see a gear wheel on your left side. Push eject. Use a toothpick (or similar object) to turn that gear from left to right. Keep turning and the tray should pop open. Unplug (WITHOUT turning off) the 360. Pull the disk tray to full extention and look through the slot in the center of it. You'll see the belt and pulleys. Tweeze the belt out small pulley first clean the belt & pullies w/alcohol. Put belt on big pulley first. Then run a lens cleaner disk when you get it opening again.

Xbox 360 disk tray wont stay shut

My 360 is/was having a similar problem...my 360 would say "reading disc" then "open tray". Well since my system is only about 8 months old...I opted to send it in for repair. Its under warranty. My system is in route to be fixed as we speak. I would advise you to get yours registered too.

XBOX 360 green light flashing....

Its the drive. Most of the problems with the drive not opening is the belt slipping inside. If you can find a new belt for the motor then change it. Otherwise I would Swap out the board to the new drive and it should solve your problem.

My Tray Door popped open after two red lights shut down console and won't close!

Here is a great page that has a step by step process for opening your unit. (they also sell parts and mod equipment)

http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/Xbox-360-Disassembly.htm

You may need a new drive, but I doubt it. After you get the Xbox open, peel off the silver tape thats on the bottom front of the DVD player, unplug the 2 connections, and lift it out. Turn the player upside down and remove the 4 screws, flip it back over and make sure that the try is lined up correctly with the mechinism.

I hope this helps. Good luck and happy gaming!!

Xbox does not read discs.

Getting to the dashboard screen is a good thing but still cannot rule out a bad circuit board or power supply. All the symptoms point to a bad DVD drive but the opening/closing by itself do indicate a problem with the microprocessor. Can you turn the power on and off with the small button?? If not, would definitely suspect bad board.
