I have a peavey cs-800 power amplifier. Thinks its from early 90's. Where to i go to find a low pass transformer(pl-2) to run low signals to my 18 inch subwoofer?
Believe it or not, these amps have been around since the early 80s and are still available today. Contact a local Peavey dealer or Peavety directly,. These parts are still available.

2 Channel Peavey CS-800 Amp (800 Watts) ...Peavey CS-800x 800 Watt PA Stereo power Amplifier. The Part in question Q4025P is an alternistor. Two SCRs back to back that may have shorted out if it is not working.
It APPEARS that the preamp tube heaters are run from DC source while the latter ones and the power output tubes are run on AC.
Check the 6.3 volts AC going to the power amp tube.
That heater power is fed through fuse F2.
I suspect you will find that fuse has a bad fuseholder or is blown. A failure in the transformer is possible and I hope that is not the case.
A heater short in a tube is possible but doesn't happen often. Replace the fuse ONCE only and if it blows again investigate why. Could be bad wiring or a bad socket or an internal short within one of the unlit tubes. Thoose are rare but still possible.
I just added a CS2000 to my rig and it is powering a pair of Peavy SP2s and a pair of SP118 with no problems at all and it sounds great. The CS stands for Commercial Series and is the workhorse of Peavey. I highly recommend them.
The CS series from Peavey is their workhorses. They are very good and reliable. I have been using variation of the series now for nearly 20 years with no problems. CS stands for Commercial Series meaning that it is intended for commercial use.
Use the series light bulb trick when trying to first power this up. Use a 150 watt bulb in series with the 120 volt power to avoid damage and blown fuses.
Unless there is a 240/120 switch on the back, this amplifier cannot change voltage. The only way is to replace the power transformer, and when you do that you need to use the exact model transformer Peavey uses for the 120 version. I have also seen differences in handling power outside of just a different transformer for USA/Euro models.
The differences between these two market models might be beyond what is cost-effective to convert.
Your power transformer should not be getting hot. The signal is not passing to or through the output transformer.Check the speaker connections on the speaker side of the output transformer. Go to geofex.com and check the tube amp debug page.
