Question about iRiver iFP-795 MP3 Player
The player just stopped playing with some garble characters appearing on screen. I changed the battery, but the player refuses to start up. Occasionally when it starts, it doesn't get past the opening screen and switches off by itself. Sometimes, it gets past the opening screen, but when I play a song, it displays some garble characters on screen and swtiches off in about 4 seconds.
can you suggest a solution please?
Go to iriveramerica.com and find the product support page. Download the latest firmware. You'll need to save it to your computer. If you don't have the iriver music manager on your computer you will need to download that also and install it.
Open the music manager, click on the format icon and re-format the player. You will lose all your music but you can easily re-load it later. After formatting, click on the firmware upgrade, open the new firmware that you downloaded and your player will be restored.
You should be able to find these instructions in much more detail on the iriver product support page.
And if you can't figure all this out or you just don't want to, contact me and I'll buy it from you. These little 795 players are in high demand.
