I am experiencing battery drain from this unit. It gets blazing hot while not in use! I'm thinking the only option I have left is to install a switch on the 12v constant power wire, but then I'd have to set it up all over again each time I get in my car. I don't know what else to do. Stupid JVC with their stupid customer service reps. There will be no JVC products in my future.

I have been in touch with JVC and only received headaches. They are very unhelpful. The store told me the IC unit is getting hot and then failing, and eventually frying the circuit board. the IC unit was replaced, and lasted about four minutes according to the repairman. It then was sent to JVC, and I now no one knows where the unit is.

I have the same problem, and according to JVC they have never heard of anyone else with this problem. I am in the process of transfering this deck out of my truck (which I traded) into my car. It started doing this in my truck but only after I watched a DVD in it. I belive the deck is having a problem transferring the sound from auto surround mode and dolby surround mode. I don't know though. I am taking the unit into a JVC warranty place and I wll let you know what they tell me.

I received my unit back after about 7 weeks from being in the shop. It was the IC unit, and fried my entire circuit board. They said they never heard of this. All your problems are precursors to this problem... get it looked at if possible and still under warranty...

My jvc kd-avx33 keeps switching off while driving at first it was just the screen going off having no affect on the sound but now the whole thing seems to switch off every minute or so

I have the same problem!!! Apparently it's the connector pins one the actual stereo unclip the face and you can see the gold plating might have worn away, i've had this problem on 2 previous JVC models, costs around £50 to be repaired, but i'm trying to find the part myslef.

JVC KD-AVX33 No Sound!

Check to see if one of your speakers are grounded out. you can do this by clipping one pair at a time at the back of the deck and reconnecting. If you clip one speaker and it comes back on the its that speaker or the wiring going to that speaker that is grounded.

Do you know anything

In the JVC KD-AVX33 manual, page 31 they wrote: "You cannot connect a computer to the USB terminal of the unit." So, how you would connect the computer to the unit ?!?
