I have an Acer Laptop with Windows Xp.... when i start my computer says |Be_$|Be_$| and i can't use it, what that mean?

LOL, I don't know what that mean!!! Maybe you should just get an operating system disk and reinstall it. You can do a Repair Install so that you don't lose any of your data.

Windows Installation Disc VS Windows Upgrade Disc -NOT THE SAME-

Having Trouble Booting To Your Windows Upgrade Disc?

...Upgrade discs aren't bootable discs. To repair a windows installation, you must use either a system repair disc or, better yet, a windows installation disc (genuine Retail/OEM discs are pretty much your only option to completely reinstall your windows operating system, unless you own a previous full installation disc of a previously released Windows version (such as XP or Vista), in which case you could install that windows operating system and then upgrade to a newer windows OS like windows 7. however if you ever need to reinstall windows 7, you would either need to reinstall the older windows OS, then upgrade to the newer one.

If that isn't clear, I'll sum it up....

Let's say you bought a computer, that computer had windows xp home edition. Maybe you wanted to upgrade from Windows XP/Windows Vista or Windows 7?
Well in order to switch from Windows XP/Vista to Windows 7, (or even from Windows 7 home premium- to windows7 Pro or Ultimate), then you must either:
A) Buy an upgrade disc and upgrade to the newer desired version.
B) Or, Buy a Retail Copy of the version you want to install. (keep in mind that a retail Windows 7 disc can be used to perform an upgrade rather than to competely wipe the hard disc and perform a clean install (delete partitions, reformat, and perform a new windows installation), if you so choose.

The bottom line is, you cannot Install a fresh clean copy of windows using an upgrade disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Retail Windows Operation System Installation Setup Discs are "Bootable Discs". Windows Upgrade Discs are NOT bootable. (unless one where to "modify that particular disc, which is not legal).

Cant restore to factory condition

It should have come with a system restore disk. Back up what you want to save and load the disk and then reboot.

You can go to and order the system restore disk if you can't find the one that came with the computer.

Packard Bell iMedia 1459. The first problem was that the NTLDR was missing and the PC will not boot at all. I have the MasterDVD whch I created when I first purchased the PC. I want to...

Seek help from a qualified technician.
He/she can remove the disk-drive from your computer,
temporarily attach it as a "slave" drive to another computer,
and copy all your files to blank DVD-writable disks,
to make a "backup" of your files (and music and E-mail and contacts).

Then, you can reinstall Windows, knowing that you have that "backup".

To create a recovery partition in harddisk

Unfortunately the Recovery partition could not be reacreated manually. But you can recover it by using the Y410 Recovery Disc but that means reinstalling everything and youll end up with windows vista again. You can reinstall XP but do not delete the partition that usually has 10-15GB of space because that is the hidden partition for the recovery. You can call 18774536686. If your computer is out of warranty, it would only cost you 59$ for the recovery disc

I have a problem upgrading

Open and back all important if you could still open you hard disk drive in another media like flash disks or cards then reformat and reinstall your new OS. do not ctrl A and copy all files when your return them back rememember to scan them using powerful antivirus software before you return data to your newly reformatted HDD or else you may be copying the virus back. Have it cleaned by PC with updated Antivirus programs.

I am unable to reinstall my windows copy

Have you created the Recovery CD's? If so, put the recovery CD in the disc drive and restart your machine. Most notebooks start from CD first and then from hard drive. If not, you could change that in it's BIOS. (Press F10 at the moment you see the HP Invent logo).

When the disc boots it allows you to choose from multiple options. Choose the options that sounds like "Restore factory defaults" or something like it.

The D-partition is only used to create the disc and hold info. There is no software there to run for recovery.

I hope this helps, if you need more help just ask.
I work at a company who is an HP Partner so.
