Good day sdpd

WEll, is time to buy the adapter, you have to e-mail the DIL Flash motherboard manufacturer for this, or try to get one on Radio Shack.

ThinkCentre model A2U; type 3429, s/n MJFEW89, power button slowly flashes, optical drive light flashes 1 short, 1 long every 4 seconds; fan not running; lcd is blank

ThinkCentre Desktops are very picky about installation of every part. (Your replacement RAM was probably too fast, such as 1600 instead of 1333.) Also, the long product ID numbers on the RAM chips must match.

First, WITH POWER DISCONNECTED, ensure the RAM is seated properly. If the RAM sticks are different brands, switch them in the RAM sockets. If you have 4 sockets, socket 0 (is the first socket) is nearest the processor socket.

Remove the RAM and clean the gold fingers with a soft, lint free cloth. Then use compressed air to ensure no debris is removed from the RAM sockets on the mother board.

I have a desktop with an amer megatrend bios.I want to get a new bios that works with win 8.1 and needs to have support for PAE,NX.and SSE2

It's best to simply replace the entire Mother Board than try to replace the BIOS. Replacing a Mother Board vs replacing a BIOS is way easier.

Your current BIOS MIGHT work if you can find a flash file for it, but you have to be careful. If the BIOS your flashing isn't in production it's usually only PATCH flash file, to fix a problem with a BIOS, not upgrade it. And if you use the wrong flash file, it will TRASH your BIOS!

The BIOS, which is a chip, is usually micro-soldered to the Mother Board with high precision, by a robotic arm, and not easily removed or duplicated. The exception is if you happen to have a BIOS chip, that can be replaced, in a socket, but this is unusual instead of common.

The best source for BIOS info such as you are looking for is the American Megatrends Website itself at: AMI American Megatrends Inc Aptio (compatible with Windows 8) however their website is for the Mother Board manufacturer so you can't buy the BIOS as a consumer, but through a reseller, AMI Office, Authorized Representatives, etc (AMI American Megatrends Inc How to Buy).

You can however, buy a replacement Mother Board with a BIOS already installed on it (that's the way you usually buy them - with the BIOS pre-installed on the Mother Board) that's PAE, NX, and SSE2 and whatever else you want compatible. A great website to find computer parts and kits, new, refurbished, out of box, etc is the Tiger Direct Website at: TigerDirect com Electronics Tablets Phones Office Supplies Video Games. Just search for BIOS to find your specs, then check the bottom for possible best Mother Board kits to replace the one you have now. Hope this helps. :-)

I have a toshiba LT a205; the LED flashes 6x; what does that mean? the psu is rated at 19vdc, and puts out 18.5 vdc. The end of the power connector that goes to the mb only has 0.5 vdc on it, so I'm...

19volts is a nominal value. The AC Adapter will be fine from 18 volts up to 20volts because the power unit on the motherboard regulates the voltages very accurately.
You say you only have 0,5volts on the Mother Board power input. There's your fault. Between the Mother Board socket and the AC Adapter.
Replace the AC Adapter or Laptop Connection lead if you mean there is 0.5volts actually on the Mother Board but full oiutput from the Adapter.

I bought new HP p6000 Series Desktop computer where the driver is not reading Cruzer or any flash drive. What to do.

look on the back of your computer for a hi speed usb port, or just use any back usb port. some computers like mine dont have a "bus" to the mother board to the front usbs or because they are piggy backed to the front they dont pass through.

Can't boot, stops right after mem test but before access to setup suspect BIOS chip It's in PLCC socket, need replacement for test thanks

does the post give a audio code before the boot stops..? the plcc chip can be purchased from the manufacturer if they are still available. Does the post stop after the mem test or during..? if during, try replacing or refitting the ram sticks. You could even remove the ram sticks and see if the post continues or if you receive a beep code.if you get a beep code, go to manufacturers website for beep code info. Have you tried to reset the bios. most boards can recover from a bios failure, the boards manual will tell you how to do this if the board supports it. If the plcc has failed, replacing the board may be cheaper and free of hassles. Replacing the plcc is a pain as you must get the correct bios installed. Are you getting the video bios details on the screen ? if no, try another video card. If you are using an on board video chip, try a video expansion card, either AGP or PCIE type, whichever the board supports. If the board only has PCI or AGP, replace the board as it will not have the features for modern software and you will probably not be able to replace the plcc.

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.
good luck.
Thank you,

Have you tried attaching an external monitor and using the <FN> key with the F? key (mine is F5) to toggle between internal and external video?

If still nothing download latest Bios update and try to flash to that.(if you don't have a multi-bay floppy drive you may have to invest in a USB floppy.

or Try ebay for parts
