Re: Thermal Shutdown

First, try to check the heatsink of the processor if it is full of dust and the air flow from the processor fun cannot penetrate to the processor.
second, double check the brackets that holds the heatsink to the motherboard, bcoz in most cases for socket 478, those bracket will easily get cracked due to aging, the reason the heatsink will not totally hit the processor.
third, remove the thermal pad on the heatsink and replace new one.
if you're done with the above mentioned, and still the same problem exist, may be there is something wrong with the sensor of the motherboard the reason it registered a wrond temp of the processor, but this cases rarely happens, but still it does.

I am using D102GGC2 Desktop board with Intel Pentium D Processor 2.8GHz and using 512MB DDR2 PC-533 RAM. Nw I want to upgrade to 2GB and decided to purchase 2 * 1GB DDR2 PC-667 RAM. Will it be compati

Hello here is the homepage:

You can only add 1gb per slot Because the mb does not supports a bigger module.
This ram type does come as 1 gb module.
The 667 mhz and 800 mhz is the Mhz speed for the ram module.
Your mainboard supports this but it will only run the current front side bus speed as the mainboard supports.
This means that the new ram will only run 533/400 mhz as the mb supports.

Hope this was helpfull

I am going to upgrade ram to 1 gb. can i use ddr2 1 gb ram to upgrade .motherboard is microstar model ms-6526 ver: 2 . present ram is ddr1 400 MHz, 512 MB

If your computer has two RAM slots on the motherboard, i would recommend trying it. The computer will run on the 512MB stick alone and just not recognise the other stick. And if it works it works.

I have searced for support documentation and came up with none for the original MS-6526

I run my original version MS-6526 on a 512MB PC2300 (DDR1) and a 512MB PC3200 (DDR1) and it runs just fine for games and videos.

Personally I would recommend trying the DDR2 first and if that fails, return the card and get a DDR1 card. They are expensive, but at least they work.

No, u can't. ur motherboard is designed for pentium III processors with FSB -133 MHz, Socket-370 type. Pentium 4 processors have 400 MHz FSB, 423 Socket at least. But yes for memory, u can upgrade it to 512 MB.

Is there any problem in using a 1GB DDR with 400MHz speed in Intel D845GVSR board?

Since Intel says that this board will support DDR with 200/266/333 MHz speeds only. There should not be problem with your board more so that it works fine.

Maximum HARDDISK CAPACITY FOR Intel 865GV motherboard

Yes, your board will support 320gb. I am not aware of a limit to how many gigabytes you can have per computer. I currently have 1.5 terabytes. 1500gb.

Ram can works dual channel

you need to make sure your ram is identical.....for example if you have one single/sided and one double sided but are both equal in capacity still may not work.......also you could be using wrong memory slots double check your motherboard manual and ensure you are using correct memory slots for dual channel operation...however memory pair mismatch is most likely your culprit
