I have owned my all-in-one for a year and a half and have gone through a considerable amount of ink cartridges in this time. I am a business student and I tend to rely on my all-in-one.

I recently have purchased a new black ink cartridge and when I replaced it with the old one, all my info screen came up with was and error screen and told me to replace the ink cartridge again and then press 'ok'. It doesnt matter how many times i do this or not it still comes up with an error and none of the buttons change the screen I am on.

Please contact me and help me with this problem. I am confident I have the proper cartridge.

Regards,
Tim Kessler

My epson rx680 on start up says "a scanner error has occured". See your documentation.

If the rebooting does not do the trick, then the rep is right in telling you that unit is in need of repair. But at what price. Better check that out first since it might be cheaper to replace than repair.

Epson RX680 Printer - How do I reset the firmware to defaults?

you will need the adjustment program to be able to reset your printer to the factory setting.. and it's really not recomm to reset the firmware as you risk of damaging the unit further.
what about the panel light.. how does they blink when the moment you switch it on?

Epson RX680-How to print only in B+W

You can set it to "grayscale" and supposedly print only in black/grey.
However, Epson printers use a small amount of every color even when printing black only or greyscale (black). Your printer will still not work with one color tank empty.

Here is how to set it:
Open the properties page for the RX680 and on the "Main" tab, click on [Advanced]. A Note may appear egarding incorrect settings.
Click [Continue]. Find the [ ] Grayscale box and check it, the [OK]
[OK], etc.

Here is Epson's note on using grayscale / colors:

Epson stylus photo RX680 error message says; service required contact epson. Does the counter need to be reset and if so how do I do that?

Yes you're right. Use SSC service utility or RX680 Adjsument program. Find at indoreset.blogspot.com. Don't forget to replace waste ink pad, or just extend outlet pipe of head cleaning mech to outside.

Epson Rx680 Photo all in one

Call Epson again and complain. This is a known defect on new machines shipped. I had the same problem and they sent me a new printer under warranty (same model) without any issues. The new one works perfectly.

Epson RX680 Startup Printer Error

I had the same issue when the printer arrived. I powered the unit off, moves the ink cradle to the left about 1/2 " then powered it on. Then it worked from there.
